Root Two Questions: Nand, and Nice & Tidy

Hello! I looked around and didnt find the answer to my exact questions, so I figured I could get an answer or two this way.

Rooted HTC EVO Is Stock I think, since I dont know how to do a rom yet, or where to find them, lol... anyways:

Question 01: Do I have to do a Nand backup everytime I delete a stock app? (example: Nascar, or Sprint Zone) Or can I get by with just a Titanium backup of all files?

Question 02: I like things nice and neat. For Example, on my Mac, I have a folder for Media, where I keep my Videos, music, and pictures. I have a folder for Documents, where I keep my Pages (word), Numbers (excel), and PDF's. I also have a folder called Programs where I keep all my program backups and keys and such. So Do you know if there is an app out there that will let me organize the apps on my android? I hate seeing them all just there... I like them put into folders by types, I know its silly... but Organization is the key to being efficient, lol

"Folder organizer" and "App Categories" are a couple of options for your OCD question . They both enable you to organize your apps into folders - and then even place shortcuts to those folders on your homescreen - so you can easily view all your "Games" or "Social Netwoking" apps. I like "Folder Organizer" because you can also create a folder for bookmarks & contacts - "All" or "Last Used". It's much more functional than his (Fabio Collini) simpler "App Organizer".
I haven't tried it yet but "Smart Shortcuts" also offers similar functionality.

I can second that, Folder Organizer is a great app for the closet OCD in you. It's a little tricky to nest folders but for the most part it works great. Just be aware that if you flash a custom ROM that the backup programs I use (Titanium, Astro, MyBackup) were not able to restore the folders, so I had to recreate them.

If you did a nand backup right after root, that backup will have all your apps in it. If you need to restore an app you can just run that bacukup and then re remove the other apps you dont want. If you nand after every app removal you will have to try to remember which backup removed which app in order to restore a single app. Also, remember nand backups are about 5 meg each your card will fill up very fast.

Titanium backup will backup all your apps and updates as well, on a set schedule but is not a replacement for a nand backup.

I have had limited issues with restoring folder organizer after a full wipe and flashing a new rom.

95% of my stuff is back where it should be. When you back up with Titanium are you backing up the app AND data?

totally agree...i also noticed that sms weren't there..went back and restored sms again and they were there. one time they came back after reboot. very inconsistent. I had mixed experiences with mybackup free version so never tried it again.
