this may sound dumb but how do you resize a picture to 960x800 so it will fit on my screen?
most of us are using urls; I myself hav a Dropbox acct so I jus Shoot me, upload it from the phone with the Dropbox app (Share) then on my desktop, grab the public link; others are using different things but same results...

Actually you don't need to root for majority of the customizations. I just dl'd launcherpro, then connected to my computer and added custom docks and icons I found all over this site and deviantart. The boot up launcherpro, and do a long hold on the present icons and click change icon--->then pick custom. LMK if you need instructions for the bottoms dock. Im still learning how to change the top doc (notification).

Here's how mine look earlier today. Its a little bit different know as I find new icons and wall papers:

Picasa, photoshop or some other image editor. They have resize options. You can pick one of the two dimensions you mentioned as the new size and maintain the aspect ratio. Then just crop the excess to the other dimension. You should then be good to go.

I should've quoted...
But, I really like this one. How do you get the background to sync with your apps?

Actually those are just big custom icons.

[Layout] Android Phone 7 (HDPI) - xda-developers

I used Launcher Pro Plus, (Paid App,)
Desktop visualizer, (free App)
Custom icons. (make yourself or find them)

I had a 2 Iphone guys take one glance at this setup and they were like wow.. what is that setup? i said "Android" The one guy even got a fascinate because he liked it so much.. and I showed him how to setup these icons.. I'm already looking to change my setup.. the beauty of android.. so much customization.

Was using this one:

I was using this:

With the scrolling dock so I had no icons on my home screen. Just widgets. But then I decided to give the tiles look a shot:

Main screen:

Right screen:

It does use a ton of ram and sometimes scrolls slower due to all the desktop visualizer widgets being used... but it's so sweet looking.
