It mostly works fine for me, but when I try to do rom manager backups, it won't find the card, it gives a bunch of errors. I can manually, however, go into clockwork recovery, and do a back up from there. Also when I reboot, the usb symbol comes on, but stays on and the card never mounts, it will then reboot itself and boot fine. This has been the same through several roms, with spf and clockwork, clockwork was broken for a while, had a hard time getting it back, don't think that's prob though.

thanks for any help,

Have you tried manually formatting the card in a PC using an SDCard reader?

A lot of folks have had problems with their cards that were solved after a full format - I ran into an issue with my SDCard, and it took three tries to actually get it formatted - but once I did no more issues were present....

I have mount errors about 50% of the time or more in Clockworkmod Recovery... Gonna try a format and see if that helps. Good tip, thanks.

EDIT: Formatting the card didn't help the issue :(

I formatted the card with the phone itself, I was actually going to do it on pc, but felt that the phone would be best. I will try that though, it's getting kind of annoying.

Thanks!

Any idea what allocation unit size is ideal when formatting the SD Card on the PC? First I tried default... seemed to work ok, but I was still having mounting errors. I just did another format and chose 32kb, the format just finished and I'm loading all my data back onto the SD from my PC. I'm going to see how that goes, but I was wondering if anyone knew better? The highest option is 64kb.

I have to admit I have no idea what the allocation unit size even is.

EDIT: So far I'm having better luck with the 32kb allocation size format. I'm curious if 64kb would be better... not about to try it though since I have no idea what allocation size is. The only reason I went with 32kb was that was what the option it was set at before I changed it to default the first time I formatted, leading me to believe that was the factory allocation unit size.

The only issues I have with it are inconsistent ability to mount it in recovery. As far as regular usage I haven't noticed any difference between the 32GB and the 16GB. I've got about 20+ gigs of music on it and when I press play on my music widget it starts playing instantly. I don't have any movies but when I watch videos I took with the camera they play great.

So for normal usage I would recommend it. I'm definitely glad I got it, I have such a huge music collection that it was hard to be limited to 16GB.

I know this is an older thread but I wanted newer folks to know MY problems with the 32GB SDcard. ROM Manager cannot read the card to do a backup.

I went into ClockworkMod to do a nandroid backup and it errored out and rebooted. I immediately held down the "x" key and forced it right back into recovery, where I selected nandroid backup AGAIN.

This time it took and made the backup!

SO If you have an SD card, you have to do backups manually in Clockwork and keep trying until you get "in". Just keep the X key handy in case it reboots, and forget ROM Manager for backups.
