What is KEYBOARD like.

it's okay, not as good as the keyboard on the Droid x and for some reason they left out the samsung keyboard that is on the vibrant. the samsung keyboard on the vibrant has editing keys for cut copy paste and text select. it also has arrow keys to position the cursor, a phone keypad layout with or without Xt9.....very odd that they didn't include that keyboard on the fascinate especially since i've found no way to reposition the cursor, other than using swype, with the fascinates keyboard.

The keyboard is fine - never any issues. Just take some time to figure out Swype and you will be fine. I never got real excited to do much typing on other smartphones simply because it took me forever, but Swype has changed everything for me.

If I could regularly think of interesting stuff to say, I'd even start a Twitter account simply to have an excuse to use Swype more. Or I could just go hang out with Dora the Explorer.

I hate the virtual keyboard onn my ally, iam hoping the 4 in screen will make it okay.

Would y'all say the fascinate keyboard is a minus? I know it doest have a D pad, I just am deciding to just return it or sufer with the keyboard.

Are you typing this on your phone now, now I'm being serious here because if you are typing this on a physical keyboard you will have much more errors on a virtual keyboard.

I am amazed that a phone supposedly so advanced would not have cursor positioning keys.

The missus and I do a lot of texting and most of the time I use the voice translate feature. Sometimes the translator misses a word or three and I need to go in for manual corrections. It's almost impossible to correct spelling errors with this pisspoor virtual keyboard. Also, the keyboard has a very small form factor and I miss keys frequently because of my large hands.

I'm thinking I bought the wrong phone. I'm thinking I need to try a Droid and failing that -- maybe I need to wait a few years for the technology to mature. I'm seriously disappointed. Generally speaking, I will not pay close to a hundred a month for a technology I don't like. This does not get it.

I got a Fascinate the other day and I think the keyboard is decent. Its my first smart phone and I type slightly slower then I would on a PC. It has auto correction and gives suggestions based on what it thinks you are typing.

Swype is pretty cool but sometimes it puts the wrong words. I hear swype can 'learn' but so far it hasn't learned anything. I did not post this with my phone in case you where wondering.

As for the lack of arrow keys, I just touch where I want the cursor. Sometimes it takes one or two tries but its not too bad.

The phone does have positioning keys, though you'll have to use swype.

While at the standard keyboard, swipe from the swype button over the the sym button and a very useful keyboard comes up with :

Select all
Cursor Jump
pg up and down
home and end
select text
cut
copy
past
and delete keys
