Root How bad of an idea was this (removing bloatware)?

I just rooted yesterday and haven't really started playing around with too much stuff other than removing bloatware. While poking around, I found the ability to uninstall apps using Titanium Backup, including the bloatware (Skype, Amazon MP3 and CityID), so that's exactly what I did instead of using cmd prompts (don't have the SDK - anyone have a link?).

Was that not a good way to do it? Should I do a Nandroid restore and do it the SDK way? Any other advice for a first-time, not so savvy rooter?

I did the same thing with CityID, and would also be interested in hearing the answer. My gut feeling is that I'll never want the thing again, and if I ever need to return the phone I'd have to unroot it anyway, which AFAIK would replace all stock apps. Could be wrong though. (Although, looking at A.Nonymous' post that appeared while I was typing, I guess I don't need to worry.)

I prefer to use SDK to make a directory /system/app.disabled, and move the apps I don't want or use to that instead of completely uninstalling them. That way, if for some reason something happens, I can always move it back into the /system/app folder. Either way, you should be good. Personal preference.

I "sorta" backed mine up. Right after rooting but before removing bloatware, I did a backup of all my apps and then stored that file on my PC.

Then I just removed everything. I don't need 20 apps taking up room on my phone, be it internal or SD. If for some reason I ever need them, I have them. I doubt I ever will though.

I have a similar question. I used "Root Explorer". I moved my apps rather than to delete them. the only question i have is; When you guys do the "CMD" way i notice that your remove or delete TWO lines (the "app" line and the "obex" line). When i did it with Root Explorer there was only one thing to delete. Do i have to go find the obex files for the said bloatware? or does doing it my way get rid of both at the same time?
