Battery gone awesome!

Firstly apologies for the lack of punctuation, keyboards gone crazy

Im afraid i cant give any screen shots or anything, but for some reason my battery has decided to go freakishly awesome.

Been unplugged for 3 hours and im still on 100%. This includes 15 minutes of voice calls, 15 minutes of changing icons etc and the rest on standby.

I recently reverted back to defrost 4.9 from leedroid, then i charged it using the top-up, switch off, carry on charging method.

Ive never seen my battery perform this well, its never normally on 100% for more than a few minutes

Im using defrost 4.9, but i deleted launcher2 and inserted launcher pro right in there before flash. Also using set cpu with powersave when screen off.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Im hoping my battery has significantly improved, but ive got a feeling there may be a bug with charge representation or something.

This happened for me to with that charging method but it only lasted one charge and then returns to how it used to be on next charge.

hi, my battery acts really funny. I can some times charge it and disconnect it and it will drop to 93% straight away. However when it gets down to 30 % ish it lasts for ages. I cant work it out............

When your phone charges, it does so until it hits 100%, then it stops charging until it's down to 90%, and then it starts re-charging. So if you're unplugging it, and it shows something less than 100%, it's because it was already there, and you caught it on its way down to 90%.

If you unplug it at 93% and plug it back in, though, it will charge back up to full charge.

haven't used it loads to be fair. about 15 minutes calls, 5 texts and 15 minutes messing around with display widgets etc.

I suppose it will go back to normal after the next charge.

I always wondered why after waking up in the morning (charging all night) to it being 9x%

OP more than likely your battery is getting used to the phone.


Almost every Android phone gets better battery life over the course of a couple weeks after it gets conditioned...

mine has gone awesome today as well

been unplugged for 27 hours and is still almost half full

that includes being connected to wifi for almost the whole time, some web browsing, some gaming and 15 mins of google maps/navigation.

Seeing as you're on defrost, have you tried resetting the battery stats?

I was extremely disappointed with the battery life on the Desire when I first got it, and now a month later it lasts almost three times as long and I always charge with my phone on.

I update to froyo over the weekend. The other day my Desire went 28 hours between charges and was at 48% charge remaining when I went to bed and plugged it in. That was with about half a dozen short calls, dozens of texts, non-wifi browsing for about an hour and about 12 hours of roaming in Germany.
