A thread about that Square credit card app

So, I was looking on the requirements and it says I need to be running 2.1 to use it. If by chance you don't know what I'm taking about, http://www.squareup.com.

It only supports the Droid, the Incredible, and the Nexus 1. Anyone have the APK for it or could get it and post it here? I'm DYING to get this.

EDIT: I might not be seeing this app in the market because, although I'm on 2.1, I'm still on 2.1 v2. Still might not be seeing protected apps. Can someone on 2.1 v3 or the OTA check if Square is an available app?

Astro is saying that it's a private app, so I can't back it up. I'm not sure what else to try.

Im having the same problem I had the droid now I have the droid x. I just got my card reader to. Dont use asteo as it wont show the hidden files. If your phobe is rooted then you can use root explorer and get the apk no problem out of the hidden apps folder. If you could do that then that would be great cause I need it too.

UPDATE: I restored the square app from my backup pro when I hade my droid and I gotit now so if you need I have it.

If you have a rooted phone the app is gone from the marketplace. I want this app because they approved me for a merchant account, and I can swipe credit cards with my phone. They sent me a credit card reader that goes in my headset jack.
I have a rooted phone and it showed up in my market. Guess it depends on what version of Android you're running.

Yeah I read up on it a bit. Don't know what kind of business you do but I would be skeptical of a business if I went to pay with my card and they whipped out there cell phone to take the payment. Maybe I'm just getting old.
I use it for my business (I have an IT business). I've always had people asking me if they can pay by credit card and up until now I never took credit card payments. Some people look at the thing kind of skeptical at first, but none have had a problem with it. A lot of people end up thinking it's pretty cool in the end. Besides, if I were to take credit card payments a different way, I would have to write down their credit card number on the invoice, take it back and bill it. This way I never even know their credit card number.

That would make sense.
