Help Transfering Contacts

I want to transfer my contacts from my old Samsung Instinct to the Moment, how do I do this?

Also if you guys know how to get my contacts from Sprint.com that would be great also.
Does the instinct have bluetooth contact transfer? Also you should be able to export contacts to microsd. I had a lowend samsung phone and it supported contact transfer via bluetooth.

The transfer via bluetooth is the best route if you still have the phone. If not, your best bet would be to call sprint and ask to be transferred to ATS. If you're lucky, you'll get a good agent (like myself :)) who will know how to put your instinct back on the account (if the ESN is not already in use) and retrieve a screenshot of your contacts via the Mobile Sync Care tool. From there they can send the screencaps to you via email and if you prefer typing, you can type them up in gmail and sync them to your phone.

Keep in mind this is only possible if you haven't had the phone more than a week. (meaning the instinct was on the account less than 7 days ago).

When I went from the instinct to the moment the sprint rep at the store couldn't figure out how to get them over. She was trying to use a machine to get them off the instinct and then load them on the moment and it would grab them but it wouldn't load them to the moment. I gave up and spent the 30 minutes to re enter them.

Was it a corporate Sprint Store or one of those Authorized Dealers? When I got my Moment I went to a Corporate store and they transferred em from my instinct with no problems and they automatically synced up with my gmail. I was overly satisfied. Most of the calls I get say they took it to one of those Authorized Dealers and they were unable to do it. I dont think half of them know what they're doing...

This was at the Official Sprint store. I don't deal with resellers. Ever.

The second time I transferred my contacts  from my Instinct to my Moment, I used the bluetooth sync. (The Sprint store did it for me the first time.)

However, they didn't show up in Google and I used an export contacts app to send them to my SD card. I was able to import them to my Google contact list from my computer and now they sync happily together.

+1, I dont know why they were unable to transfer them though. They probably had a buggy machine. *shrugs*

Were you signed into your gmail account during the initial transfer?? I had a customer with a Hero who knew nothing about Android and one day decided to go to the market to download some apps and couldnt. He couldn't even sign into his gmail account so we had to reset his phone and set up the gmail during the initial setup. Luckily he had 2.1 on his phone and we were able to back his contacts up to the SD card, but we both were shocked when we imported the contacts back to the phone and they automatically synced with gmail. He sent an email to Dan saying that I need to train all ATS agents. LOL
