There is currently a beta release named GAOSP which is currently on development stage for galaxy. Our man drakaz is taken up the challenge to port Foryo on Galaxy. You can try his latest nightly build which is almost stable. Visit drakaz for more information.

Btw, don't be confused with GAOSP (Public) Beta 2 which is Android 2.1 (eclair) which is an older version of Android. And depending if you don't have Galaxy i7500L (yes L) everything will work for you (the Galaxy i7500L users know what I'm speaking off).

If you have any questions on how to install the nightly build, just ask away we will be more than glad to help you. :p

So you choose the easy way to install.
OK, here is what you must know. If you did get the donated version (not free) you can install all you see there. The free version allows you to install Recovery (6.4 version) only and donated version the mentioned recovery and Galaxo or GAOSP.

OK, first you must install Recovery 6.4, it will give you an option for backup (Nandroid backup). It's a must have, 'cause you can save your present version of ROM (Sam*censored) for warranty reasons. :p
And also you can do a backup of Galaxo or GAOSP to try the other ROM.

And now for the ROM's. Galaxo is based on 1.6 Android and GAOSP is based on Android 2.2.1 (froyo). So if you have donated version and you installed Recovery 6.4 (did a backup - it will give you an option to do a backup before installing the ROM), you can choose which you wish to install.
Be warned do you will loose all your data (SMS, MMS, apps...). You can install a Titanium backup before trying the ROM and do a backup of your apps, and after you install the ROM, install Titanium backup again and get them back.

For your contacts if you did google sync with the next sync you will get them back.

If you have other questions don't hesitate to ask. ;)

Or you can install via adb commands, if you wish to learn it. :p
But yes, Galaxy Updater donated version is the easy way.

Or you can do a combo off Galaxy Updater free version and adb. With Galaxy updater install Recovery 6.4 and via explorer (Windows, Ubuntu,...) copy the ROM on your SD card and install it thru Recovery 6.4 (for this part you will need sdk and adb drivers).

Listen to this man. :) Super easy to do.
