STOCK DUE: UK WIDE DELAYS ARE EXPECTED FOR SIM FREE STOCK. THIS WILL EFFECT ALL UK RETAILERS. STOCK DUE WEEK COMMENCING 11TH OCTOBER

, I'll still hold out hope for a quick delivery from them.

When I ordered my N900 from them, it stated 28 days but then got it inside a week, so im assuming its as and when the stock comes in.

But saying that, I'm not in any mad rush, my Hero is serving me well enough.

I've just been on the phone and spoke with one of the store managers who confirmed as far as he is aware the Desire HD IS UNBRANDED SIM FREE

..Going to on an online chat with them to confirm

They also state that the delivery timescale is guideline only and still hope to despatch within 10 days.

Also stock is limited and is sent on first come first serve basis.

Colrey, not trying to sound mean or anything, but it feels like you are just plucking out dates and guessing because both of the above was provided with no actual source and when a source did come out, you wasn't close to the date.

Unless you plan on flying out to Taiwan, I don't think you will get it any quicker than any other member or will be owner out there.

All we are saying, is if you are going to put something out there like a date, its not really valid without something to back it up with..the art of reporting.

@eozen81: yes, it does mean that. Unlocked SIM Free is simply a phone not from a telecom company, but bought in a shop without any sort of contract with a telecom. This is how i bought my Moto Milestone EU from Expansys.

So I need to ask the seller (also let him confirm) If the phone is exactly unlocked/sim free/unbranded, does these 3 seperate definitons are same? Or should I pay attention only for some of them?

I can only go what I was told via my call to MobilePhonesDirect and via the online transcript above.

I've yet to have an official response from HTC.

Sim free/unlocked = without contract, not locked to a telecom company
Unbranded = No software from the telecom operator or custom stuff (like orange boot up logos for example!..or vodafones 360 crap)

I just got this from a HTC advance certified seller :

hi,

I wanted to inform you that HTC are pushing back
all UK Sim free stock of the desire HD due to a
possible exclusivity period with a UK network.
This will affect all UK resellers. Network
locked handsets may appear on the market but these
will be branded and not Sim free. Unlock codes
will be almost impossible to obtain in the first
instance. If you are still hoping to have a Sim
free handset then I suggest you hold fire until
the official release date. I am happy to offer a
full refund and reverse the auction if you
require. However I still believe that I will have
stock sooner than some other suppliers. I would
hazard a guess and say that stock will arrive in
the next 15 days.
