Hey all

I use my phone constantly. My business and personal life revolve around something or another on my phone!

On a slow day im at like 4-5hrs awake time. When things pick up i can do 8-10 awake without batting an eye.

40-50 phone calls, conference calls, 50-100 emails, 20-50 txts, tethering, camera, navigation, stocks, weather, mp3 player, Yahoo Messenger, angry birds, etc. All on a daily basis

I cannot possibly be alone, can i?? All the posts i see about battery life, most people talk about like 1.5-3hrs awake lol

So id also be interested in hearing your experiences with battery life.

I am now rooted and trying different rom/kernal combos, right now im on uncommon sense with the custom kernal from virtuous. setcpu and juicedefender. I can get about 8hrs on a slower day before i need to charge. about 6hrs on a busy day.
*not complaining, just stating

Also i have ordered a 3500 from ebay (kisses tarabathia) so i have high hopes for that.

so whats up, whos with me

Those are about the same numbers I get. I dont make nearly the same amount of phone calles. Like... 10 times less than that, but I'm on a 1500 mah battery, and it gets practically the same time you say. I am so extremely tempted to buy the extended 3500 mah battery, but for some reason I keep holding back. I have had my phone die a few times when it counldn't have been worse timing. My average battery life is probably 5 1/2 hours, with heavy usage (practically the same w/ or without a task killer, so i stopped using one). I am non-rooted, too.

Is it a cheap 3500 one, or the seidio one? Make sure to let me know what you think of it when you get it. I wish I could just see one in person before buying it, instead of just pictures. lol

Got the cheap one because im scared i wont like not having a case :( I really dont mind the size, but i am at risk of dropping the phone often since i am one of those drones walking through midtown staring down at my phone all day hahaha

Have you considered rooting? SetCPU definitely helps!!

And i never used a task killer so i cant comment. I just always figured i dont wanna kill stuff, i wanna use it! Thats why i bought this thing haha

yeah i'm kind of a power user...i get the same time (8-10 hours usually) and i text like a mofo all day..never really make calls though. but i do all sorts of shit (facebook, foursquare, AIM, g talk, etc) so i blow through my seideio 1750 (1500) pretty quick. was thinking of getting the HTC one through verizon for the 45 bucks, but i did just spend like 36 bucks with shipping on a 16 gig SD card, and being i dont have a job right now, idk what im gona do lol

You're going to have to let me think of what you think of the 3500 one. And Seidio does offer an innocase for their 3500 batter I believe, so if you like the cheap one, you might want to consider that.

I have considered rooting, but I glance over it quickly, and although there are very detailed instructions available on this site, I'm afraid of once I get the thing rooted, it might be difficult to switch to different ROMs, or it can be a very expensive paperweight if I do screw something up.

Id like to guarantee that you wont screw it up, but i really cant afford to buy you a phone if you do lol ... seriously though, i was WASTED when i did it, and it took 20min or so

switching roms is like loading a new app now! Using ROM Manager, you just browse the availables, click on one, and it says "Install without wipe? Or wipe then install?" And you put the phone down and come back in like 20min lol

i have been using Virtuous v3 with Adrynalynes v1 kernel. I do use my phone all day but I dont make many calls on the incredible... Usually lasts all day. Are you an office person or ? I move around a lot so i have car charger, even a 15-20 min drive is good for a few more hours at the end of the day.

Haha, that you did! I flashed the virtuous ROM last night, with the custom kernel. Mainly because I have read really good things on it, as well as the battery life. Why would you recommend uncommon sense over virtuous? How's the battery life (trying to avoid buying the bigger battery if possible. haha). And sorry for turning this into a root help thread!

*hugs*

I use my phone a lot more since I canceled my home phone line, but still not that much! LOL. I am more of a moderate user, 3-4 hours awake on average. But there are days where I have less than an hour (those are my lazy days that I spend on the couch ignoring people who call :D )

Power user here for sure two. Awake time for mine is anywhere in the range of 20-40 hours(business days that is, M-F, Sat and Sun is break time) a week. Anything from calls to entertainment on the go. Rooting and setting up some power saving apps does help, but i still have to constantly charge due to my usage levels. That part does suck, but i love the phone otherwise.:) Can't upgrade the battery either from my 1750 cause i'm also afraid to drop it and not having it in a case. Cause of the job i do that's a big no no as it can easily break or damage the phone. Always on the go.

20-40 hours in a 5 day period isnt really a ton...the 40 would be but not 20. and you need to do more research into the battery cause you logic makes no sense at all on why you cant upgrade the battery

i'm pretty excited; i finally ordered that 1500 mah batt from bidallies for 16 bucks total with tax here in NJ today. i have the sedeio 1750 mah, but honestly, this thing is terrible. once i read everyone else saying that the 1500 HTC batt is better than the sedeio, it confirmed my beliefs that mine has simply gone downhill since i bought it in may. what a ripoff; 40 bucks! i'm using the stock 1300mah and honestly, i see NO difference from the 1750. they're both almost identical. however, i'm seeing people love the 1500 and say it out performs the stock 1300 by far, so i'm pretty excited to see!

Same boat here. I dont even bother telling people im on a 1750 because i swap it out with stock and there is no difference lol

i cant wait to hear your feedback!!

Up time: 4h 25m
Awake: 1h 26m

The break is becuase I flashed a ROM...my second today. Oh..and take 1.5 hours away from up time as I was at a meeting where I could not use my phone. That was a not normal event. I normally hit 5 to 6 awake. So yeah...I am a power user.

I think one of the factors of battery life is that power users expect crap battery, so they do not feel the need to post about it. When I got the phone, I knew what a 1GHz processor took to power, even if it was scaled down voltage wise for mobile. I knew I would use the phone. I knew I would charge twice daily at least. With the hydra OCUV 1.15 kernel, I can go a whole day slowly (if I spend it in the lab where i cannot touch the phone without fear of contamination).

I am pretty sure that his point is that if he goes any bigger on the battery, he will not be able to find a case to fit the phone (at least, not without modding the case).

As such, he is afraid of the additional risk he would take by not having a case in the event of a drop... aka - it's more likely to get damaged naked that if it was cased.

Ok, maybe i should rephrase, case for bigger batteries + new bigger back cover = i don't like and makes phone a pain in the ass to handle/bigger. Slim = better in my case. so you are saying 5-8 straight hours(and yes i use my phone constantly while it's plugged in and charging as well), excluding the weekend use since it's less, it's not heavy use? I fail to see your logic in that.   I'm curious as to how much you use it on a work week now with a comment like that.

P.S. I mentioned i have a 1750 in my original post. I am talking about upgrading to a battery bigger than that.

Bingo! i work with very heavy equipment and constantly on the move. Travel a lot and always bumping into something that's hard and heavy. Or dropping it on something hard and heavy. Can't afford to break this kick ass phone.

during work i bet i use it all day pretty much and have to charge at least once during my shift, my uptime is normally 60% when i am using the phone.

an if you meant BIGGER than 1750 then you should state bigger than 1750 cause the 1800, 1500, 1750 are all stock size
