What do you have in your dock?

For those of us who can customize their docks, how do you choose what goes there?

Most people seem to have the phone app, some have the browser, etc.

I just thought about mine and it seems completely arbitrary. I can't say the apps there are the ones I use most often (i don't talk on the phone much), but it would seem weird for a phone not to have the phone app there. I happen to have one homescreen so anything there is easily accessible (no real need for a dock).

Just curious about how others decide.

I'd like to put the phone, messaging and maybe gmail apps in it, but i can't figure out how to set up a dock. how do I? just got the phone last night sry if its a dumb question.

It depends in which phone you have. They all have different docks.

I have the Captivate, but I'm running Launcher Pro, which has a highly customizable dock.

I have: phone/dialer, web, GV, newsrob, engadget and the app drawer launcher on mine. I use those a lot and they are handy to have in the dock. I sometimes think I'd like to have Bloo there too but honestly don't see the point of having a scrolling dock, it's no different (to me) than having to scroll through the screens. So I just scroll for Bloo...

Most common apps: phone, contacts, app drawer, Google Voice, browser. The contacts are probably a bit redundant as I can access them via the dialer (it just wouldn't be one touch access to the contacts). I'm thinking of replacing contacts with Touchdown as it's the only email app I really use.

I also use Launcher Pro.

i have (from left to right) messaging, phone, app drawer, contacts, browser. I find i use those the most, plus Launcher Pro has the bubble things for missed messages and calls and the new pop-up things for those as well.

everyone praises ADW and puts it on their custom ROM's as default...but i just can't do it. LP has spoiled me. such an awesome home replacement. i couldn't live without it....ok I could, i just choose not to :)

I've had my phone for less than a week...so I'm still moving stuff around, getting a feel for the phone and gauging usage.

I'm using Launcher Pro Plus (Launcher Pro is the free version)
"Default" Dock (displayed most of the time and probably won't change it)
Phone, AudioManager (for volume settings), App Drawer, HandcentSMS, Dolphin Browser HD
one additional dock I have setup:
Manage Applications, Settings, Memo, Mabilo Wallpapers (love this app),
Market.

I've blanked out the other five spots for now...I'm not sure in the long run how much I'll use the additional dock spots but I like having them and they are very simple to change.

Now I just need to work on themes and maybe changing the icons...oh and ringtones..

Again, LauncherPro Plus here.

Using 3 docks...stops me having to scroll away when I am interacting with widgets :)

Dock 1 - App Drawer, Contacts, Phone, SMS, Dolphin Browser
Dock 2 - App Drawer, Camera, Camcorder, Financisto, Gallery 3D
Dock 3 - App Drawer, Facebook, gReader, Nimbuzz, Twitter

Not sure why I bothered repeating the app drawer now I come to think of it..it can be handy though. Also, I don't bother with any email clients on there as I get a notification and sending new mail is quite infrequent..I mainly read and reply.

I may reduce the docks and tinker with swipe gestures...but I do like my pretty icons :D
