I really like my Epic, but if the Droid Pro came to Sprint...

I'd be all over it like a fat kid on cake.

Feature set:
1GHz OMAP 3620, to be precise, with an MDM6600 chipset, 512MB of memory and 2GB of onboard storage, plus 802.11n 2.4GHz WIFI, Bluetooth 2.1 and tri-band UMTS. There's a dual LED flash alongside that auto-focus camera, and a programmable key on the side that asks you what you want it to do the first time you press it. There's 3G mobile hotspot support for up to five devices, and an optional 1860mAh extended battery and case, plus a desktop charger dock like those for the Droid and Droid 2. Well, it just so happens that the Droid Pro has the push functionality of Blur even though it isn't weighed down by the full Blur UI, and supports SD card remote wipes, has spellcheck integrated into the OS and a "multi-headed" VPN client.

Looks like an Android version of a Blackberry. I know quite a few people that refuse to have a sliding phone and want a physical keyboard, this seems to be their answer if they wanted to switch to Android.

Yes and it looks like it takes up a lot of real estate that could've been used for the screen. I had a Curve, didn't like it, this don't look good. I actually like the slider that tucks away when you don't need it.

Here's the official spec page. I loved my centro. I really liked the Pixi. I really wish companies would stop with the big bezels though. Gorilla glass, some magnesium. Push the envelope already.

Size wise it's almost 6mm shorter, almost 4mm narrower and 2.5mm thinner than the Epic. Never a need to deal with on screen typing. Never a need to deal with a slider. Easier to carry. If the giant screen is nice but not a need, it's definitely an option. Would definitely appeal to the BB,Treo, webOS crowd when it comes to form factor.

Don't really think the people buying this phone really care about AMOLED. Personally, I don't want AMOLED. I'd take the super version of either tech, but again, the market for this phone probably are not going to care.

And Epicurean, you're really missing the point of the phone and the market it's hitting. Motorola already has the Droid X slate and the Droid 2 slider. Think they have those segments covered. You pretty much have every segment covered now on Verizon with this edition.

And heck, I'm probably going to end up with a tablet of some sort at some point. It'll probably always be in my bag for work and play so there's less need to have the big screened phone.

Screen is to small for browsing the web...which means allot of scrolling...It has a key board, but sacrificing part of the screen for the keyboard is a no no for me.

If the keyboard was a slide out so the screen would be bigger then we can talk.

But i guess u can call this a hybrid phone//lol

looks like a motorola q from the bottom

people thought the Pixi was ugly until they saw it in person.
LOL I saw the Pixi in person, and still thought it was butt ugly. :p

I'm not a fan of these types of phones.

I had a Blackberry Pearl, that was ok... This curve here I got, it's ok. Nothing exciting at all.

Just not what I'm looking for, in a touch screen multi-media smart phone.

lol. its ugly. if they wanted to really compete with blackberry users and the business crowd why not make the screen more like the motorolla q and the blackberry bold etc. cramp keyboard, small screen. put android on it and its golden or just make it a slider phone with a full keyboard. whats with this weird form.

.

I think that market is on its deathbed. Ppl that are happy with BB's small screen will stay with BB. If you're going to Android, why stick with a tiny screen? I hated BB's small screen. All I can say to Verizon is, "good luck with that!"

Because the Moto Q had a 2.4" screen. This is 3.2" which is the size of the Palm Pre screen. If anyone hung around precentral, Pixi users clamored for larger portrait style screen and said they could fit the Pre screen on just such a phone. Plus if you change up the format (portrait/landscape), all those developers now have to create support for it. Sorry, but I long for the day of having the smallest phone possible and miss my i500. Big screened brick like phones are nice and have wow, but I haven't watched one movie, tv show, or what not. It's just nice to have. Had they killed some of the bezel and made it say a 3.6" screen, it'd be even better. Though I'd still take a nice portrait slider like the upcoming Dell.
