I have what i tought was a flawless Epic, till this morning my speaker started sounding like static was coming out of it. Now everything that comes out the speakers sounds like static or like a blown speaker. Sucks cause now I have to take it back to bestbuy. I'm hopping somehow it fixes by its mself.

 OK Lowering all speaker volumes right now. Im not taking ANY chances with #6. Have you dropped the phone at all? Most of these handsets use ceramics in these tiny speakers and sometimes if you drop them they will crack or shatter.

No I didn't drop it. It was fine till the alarm woke me up this morning. It was set at the highest level and I quickly notice it was sounding a bit off.

I'm here at bestbuy now...waiting in line using this epic for the last time :-( before I get a new one and hope the same thing don't happen. Now only if they'll do something about the 2 invisible shield I brought? Well hope 3rd times a charm if not its EVO time. But I do like the epic and hope all ends well.

Wow not good.

Yep, it was the external speaker, not the ear piece speaker. So it was horrible :(. Until I had a chance to go get my phone replaced.. I had the phone on vibrate.. simply because any sound that came off that speaker was ear piercing. Even the audible tones when going through the phone was enough to make you put everything to mute.

So, I mean.. it mustve been a weak speaker. I asked my friend a few days ago what level he keeps his volume settings and he told me he keeps everything on max. He has had the phone since launch.

I keep my current Epic on medium volume settings for everything. If I really want to hear something loud and clear, I just plug the headphones in lol, Im not risking blowing my speaker again.

I'm back up and runing with a new mint flawless epic with a free invisible shield. Thank you BestBuys you guys rock. They had 2 EVO's in stock and I didn't even think about switching over to it.

Anyways I guess I'll have to keep the volume low so it wont happen again (which suck).

Now I will never turn my volume all the way up. I've had it on max volume playing music for a while and my speaking still sounds fine.. not taking anymore chances tho

I've had my epic less than a month when my speaker blew. I went to bed and it was fine. Woke up in the morning and it was jacked! I have a new one on the way. I guess I will keep the volume tuned down to prevent it happening again. It sucks because we shouldn't have to do that. If you spend $250 on a phone you should be able to use it to the fullest.
