Issue since rooting

I have a CDMA Hero. I finally pulled the trigger and downloaded the Universal Androot and the Rom Manager. Been scared to do this for a long time. Last night opened Androot and noticed you could do a 'Soft Root' - a temporary root until you reboot. I chose this and saw that 'Superuser' was there. Decided to reboot and wait for the weekend when I had some time if something went South. Everything seemed fine but there are two problems. There is no "Weather" because there is no data connection. Also I have no ability to send or receive email, assumably again because there is no data connection. What can I do to restore data connection. FWIW - phone is working fine. Thanks.

Just tried something - logged on to WIFI. this fixed the problem (only from this or other WIFI locations). Sent mail, got weather. Still need to know what to do to make it work from the normal network. Also - there is a little triangle over my signal strength meter. What does that mean?

Triangle now gone...

Try turning mobile connection off and then back on, then do a profile update, then reboot and try again, t6o turn mobile off, hit the end key for a few seconds and an option will come on look at the last one mobile connection, turn that off and then back on with the same procedure

Good to know, now i know what you meant by a soft root, I guess it allows you to test what rooting feels like, I may give it a try to see since if I reboot it goes back to normal. :D

Don - If he did a soft root - the Reboot will UnRoot....
SB - Try just toggling the mobile connection - also try unrooting and re rooting -
Se if that fixes
