Hey phandriods!

I use to think I was "tech savy" but I just switched from a blackberry to my first andriod phone -- the EVO.

I need some tips, advice, etc. to make my phone look..cool, you know?

For example, any where I can get a color keyboard?

And then... I have questions like....

What's froyo?
What's HTC IME? and how come it doesnt work on Android 2.2?

I have been online all morning reading forums trying to figure out some stuff about the EVO cause I would like some knowledge over my phone and I have just frustrated myself instead.

PLEASE HELP!!

P.S. I miss swype ;(

if im not mistaken the new types of keyboards are available in the marketplace, just key in "keyboard" and look a bit.

froyo is a labeling for the version of android OS that the phone is running, now days most evo's come with the 2.2 (froyo) operating system version, older version were 2.1(eclair) and 1.5 (cupcake) and so on, basically its a code name, get it? (im sure you do ;) )

htc IME from what i can tell is different keyboards, here is a link that makes me think this (im not very familiar with the term but maybe this will put you in the direction your looking for)

You can get Swype from the Market - it's free. Read the Sprint manual that came with the phone - it makes a difference and only takes a few minutes to go from cover to cover. Android's pretty easy for most of the changes you're looking for, but you'd have to be specific about what you're trying to do to get help via the forums. The how-to section here covers just about everything you can imagine, including advice for newbies.

In no time, you'll probably be an Evo and Android fan more than you can imagine.

Swype does not equal Skype. I believe you were thinking of Skype...
