HaHaHaHaHaHa! iPhone 4 owned again! lol

I think the worst part of this whole breaking glass thing is the fact that its becoming breaking news on tech blogs. just goes to further show that by essentially being an apple product it gets 10x more publicity.

yes glass is going to break, of course that glasss is going to break even faster when sand is constantly being rubbed against it because its housing is holding the sand there.

Cant argue the look of the design truly is a beautiful looking device.

...not sure what the pro's were

Looks and weight. The glass is a very attractive design up to the point it gets dirty scratched or cracked. It's like having a black car. When it's all waxed up, it looks great, but it shows every spec of dirt, spots easily in the rain and dulls faster than any other color.

The glass also adds a little more weight to the iPhone making it possible to be thinner and still feel very substantial in your hand.

Who knows, it could be more Jobsian Genius. Having a phone that get's dinged up faster and more significantly would mean that replacement cycles would be accelerated even if the original phone continued to work.

The thing I find amazing is that all you guys think this is"awesome". Yeah a competitors phone isn't perfect...neither its any of our devices. I also find it hilarious that this is so amusing to you all. Seriously...is it the fact that its apple makes mistakes or the fact that you guys are trying to justify picking a different phone that amuses all you so much? I've known apple fanboys...and I've known android fan boys. Its hard to beat apple fanboys when it comes to being a jackass but the android ones did it.

Agreed...

If I don't like a phone, I simply don't buy it :)

I find it neither awesome or amazing. I do, however, think that Apple brings a lot of this on themselves when they claim the devices are "magical" and "revolutionary". Magical would be auto-healing glass ... revolutionary would be a phone that didn't need an antenna.

What I think would be "awesome" and "amazing" would if there could be reasonable discussion about the issue without name-calling.

it is pretty.. but they should have done better testing for durability.... and be strong enough to say NO.. to a bad idea! even if it looks so pretty and shiny...

jobs knows that pretty and shiny will sell apple products!
I think Jobs knew the problem.. and will do a magical marketing blitz.. and all will be well.. 2 million more sold!

I don't think this is as big of an issue as people are making it out to be. Honestly, how many people cover their iPhone 4 up with a case? 10%? That leaves the other 90% happy with the sleek look. Also, it's not like they really could have functionally tested this issue before release. Reason being, the majority of cases didn't come out until the phone was released. It would be like buying a car, taking it through the car wash 100 times, and seeing that the rear left inner gromet covering an electrical wire to the break light breaks down with a certain type of soap at that one car wash. It's hard to test things like this from third parties.

Go Android.

Even if the number is just 10%, that's way too many for a phone to crack and break.

I personally see a lot of people using iPhone4's with cases, because of the antennagate issue, so I suspect way more than 10%. But in reality none of us will know for sure.

This is an issue, and it is significant.
