A question for anyone who may have gotten a Desire HD early or perhaps those who've picked the leaked ROM apart.

I know HTC have added their own 'offline' maps application, which I am quite interested in, I am however wondering if plain old Google Maps, Navigation and most of all Latitude are still present / working?

Bare in mind Google Maps is a standalone app to HTC sense, as it Latitude and Navigation so they all should still work.

Best people to really ask in that respect is people who have modded the HTC HD2 and put android on it...Try the XDA Developers forum..always someone who would have tried it there xD

I take your point about the apps being fairly stand alone. It's what I suspect but I still want someone to confirm it.

Not sure why you're suggesting the HD2 port is relevant. Ok the hardware is similar but then so is the Evo, this relates to the ROM. The port predates the Desire HD and the new map application by some considerable time so zip don't see how it could shed any light on this....

The point is that if people are using HD2's to make a port of of the Desire HD's sense, which is effective the ROM, you are better asking them your question because noone here can answer it for the best part of a week easy...That way you are going to get a quicker response :).

Also considering the sense desire hd rom is working on a HD2, your better asking them...I've not said anything about hardware ;)

Isn't google maps just an app in the Android store, surely it would just work as normal then?

Or am I wrong, I'm on iPhone at the moment, but that was the impression I got

Indeed it is.

I think i've used 5 times in 10 months xD...I'm old fashioned. If i'm lost, I have the ultimate maps...It's called a paper one :D:cool: ..and then I the Garmin thing as well.
