I have the droid rooted running lfy 1.7. My battery life hasd been ok but not great. About 10-12 hours of life when i send about 3 texts one or 2 calls and an occasional download. I have also run udx 8.0, cm6, charity, and bugles .5.
Udx has about 8-10 hours, cm6 has about 6-8 hours, charity has 10-12 hours and bugless has 5-7 hours.
I was wondering what Roms you are using and what battery life you are getting.
Please include the kernel, your speed you run at, and your usage.
Thank you

i am personally experiencing excellent battery life with lfy 1.7 with the stock kernal. i am currently on 18 hours with light to moderate usage and i have 40% left. prior liquid roms were terrible for my droid.
there could be numerous reasons for poor battery life including but not limited to a weak signal or malfunctioning battery. it certainly seems that something is wrong here.
when i install a different rom i go into recovery and under advanced and clear battery stats(after i let the battery run completely down). i have found that it helps since different roms have different battery usage and this can cause false readings. have you ever noticed that when you reboot your phone it often will show you now have more battery life than you had before rebooting? this is a false reading and could possibly cause your phone to not fully charge.
i would try this and if it doesn't help go under about phone and check your battery usage. perhaps you have an app or widget draining your battery.

I have seen this often. What I see most often is a fairly sudden jump from 70% to 40% battery life. Sometimes when it does that, if I reboot it goes back to normal but usually it stays at 40% and starts to act very strange.

Can you explain more fully? Are you saying let the battery run down to almost nothing then reboot into recovery (clockwork) and the "clear stats" is an option there?

I'm saying let the phone cut itself off. connect it to your wall charger and charge for a brief minute or so then reboot into recovery. go into advanced and wipe battery stats. reboot and let it fully charge undisturbed. run it all the way down again and let it fully charge again. it may take a few days of this for your phone accurately build its stats back up.

UPDATE:
Over the weekend I tried this.
Initially, it seemed to not change much but now, things are better.
One thing for sure, it got rid of the sudden drop from 70% to 40% to 15%.
It seems like things are still improving as well.

Thanks again for the tip.

Two things:

1. thank you digdug for that info on wiping battery stats, never noticed that before.

2. SNeitzel, have you been using the same kernel for all the ROMs? Your kernel will have a lot to do with your battery life and heat issues as well.

Yes and no.
I have always used Slayher's kernels but went from the 1.5 to 1.6 to 1.7 versions to match the version of LFY I was using. At one point in LFY 1.6 I moved from the 1200 to the 1250 as well. Currently, I am comparing battery performance between LFY 1.6 with Slayher's 1.6 1250 to LFY 1.7 with Slayher's 1.7 1250.

I have been running the 1100 mhz jdlfg kernel v3224 Aug week 32. I take my phone off of the charger around 5 a.m. and with moderate usage 20-25 texts 5 or so calls 20 min of music and some surfing I find myself trying to kill the battery about 9 p.m. so I can charge it. The jdlfg kernels are the only ones that will run at 1ghz or more on my phone all of the others bootloop or randomly reboot. I am also running on the stock rom. I keep SETCPU set at 1100 max and 300 min.

where exactly do you find the battery stats i went and looked in recovery in advanced and didnt see anyhting of the sort.

You have to be using clockwork. Boot into recovery - advanced is on that main screen at the bottom. Go to that then battery stats. It will give you the option to clear, or format or delete, (one of those three) do that and reboot.

I had pretty lousy battery life with LFY 1.6 and the 1 GHz Slayher kernel, but after switching to BB 0.5 and the stock 800 MHz kernel my battery life improved significantly. I can make it through the day with moderate to medium use and still have 60% left :)

Rom-------------Kernel used-------------------Battery Life

CM 6-------------Chevy 1.2 ulv & lv-------------8-9 hours
BB 0.4------------Chevy 1.1 ulv, lv, m-----------8-10 hours
BB 0.5------------Chevy 1.2 ulv-----------------8-9 hours
LFY 1.6-----------1.2 ulv (forgot name)----------10-12 hours
LFY 1.7-----------1.2 lv (still dont remember)----11-13 hours
UD 8--------------P3 1.2 ulv---------------------13-15 hours
UD 8--------------Chevy 1.2 ulv-----------------14-16 hours
The UD 1.0.0------P3 1.2------------------------16-18 hours

As you can see my phone really loves Chevy kernels. But for some reason my phone only likes P3 when I'm using Ultimate Droid. But lets it straight that I use my phone like it's my last day with it. As in at least 200 texts a day, trollin this forum and other websites for at least an hour a day, music for about 45 minutes, and on the phone for about an hour and a half with you know who:cool:. When switching roms reduce number of hours by about 3-4. Actually being realistic on hours too. On UD 1.0.0 I wake up at 6 and usually charge my phone b/w 10 and 11 p.m. But I have never ended the day with some battery unless I had to charge mid day. So yeah. Hope you guys appreciate the time I put into this post. LOL. I'm really bored. GF not awake yet.
