Accessories ProClip Adjustable Car Holder works perfectly with the Epic with & without a case

For those that saw a similar thread for my Evo, now that I've moved on to the Epic I loosened the thumbscrews, popped the Epic in and tightened. The Epic pushes the limits of the rails but is a nice tight fit. I gave it an extra squeeze before tightening so it takes the slightest effort to pull out of the holder. For those that want to rotate to landscape, it should be plenty secure. I chose to ditch the tilt swivel because I don't care about landscape, and I like the low profile fit with the Panavise mount. Using the Panavise is the only reason I can go without the tilt swivel. With the ProClip dash mounts you'll need to use the tilt swivel which most will do anyway.

And before you ask, the cable is an Up Angle MicroUSB cable bought from usbfirewire.com. Great cables. If you need a low profile at the USB end they make a right angle connector there too. Should be perfect if you're using a low profile USB adapter in a cigarette lighter socket.

I like the adjustable because it's now on it's 3rd phone so it's easily paid for itself. The only phones it didn't work with were my Pre and Pixi. They were just too narrow. With this big screens it's clearly not a problem.

If you're using a case on your Epic, the adjustable works just as well (check out the last pic). This case is a cheap ebay case. Probably a little thicker than the Innocase. Fits just fine.

If anyone is interested in a solution for their car, let me know. Can save you some dough and find the right combo for your vehicle even if it's not all ProClip.

I bought my adjustable holder for my Epic through dbpaddler and it came quickly and the Epic definitely fits well in it. I also bought a case that I tried, and it fit well in the adjustable holder, although I have decided to go without the case for now.

I love how secure my phone is using the ProClip system. It's not the cheapest, but sometimes you get what you pay for, and these are worth the money in my opinion.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that the Epic definitely does fit well and this is legit to buy through dbpaddler...and I'd even bought from him years ago when I got a holder for my Palm Centro back in the day!

Thanks dbpaddler!

Thanks for the props. I took pics with the Epic in a case, and was just amazed how much bigger it felt and even less solid. For some reason I just hate cases on sliders. Though I did just buy a case to try it. It's like those barely there cases and the cheap snap on ones a bunch of us bought for the Evo. Will post pics of it when it arrives. Seems like the most minimalist case possible, and unlike the evo version it actually surrounds all the corners.

Funny you can remember back to the Centro. I started doing this back with the Treo 600 and Samsung i500 when most of us (those that remember back that far) were on pdaphonehome.com and I talked proclip into making holsters for our phones and had a hand in designing them. I got them making holsters for all sorts of things including the Rio Karma (loved that player) and they gave me a reseller's account. So it was only fair to give the guys in the forums a good discount.

paddler, nice. thanks for the link on the micro usb. I'd been looking at left and right angle. but the up angle seems great. I've been worried that the straight up micro in the car not just looks dumb, but may stress the port over time.

I did find this clip, but I am not sure it will fit not the epic as it seems thickness dependent and the Epic is 50% thicker than other galaxies.

I think the left angle cables would be good for those going to landscape a lot since it will then hang straight down.

Looks like the auction was removed. Just saw proclip adjustable in the url title. Proclip makes three adjustables. One was for the ipod which is just too big now for most phones, the iphone one which fits most phones these days and one for the BB Pearl. That one will fit most bare slate phones outside of the Evo. The slate galaxy phones are close to the max for it.

There are one o two ebay sellers (I sell on there too) that will buy just the holders in bul and sell them a touch cheaper than I buy doing really cheap or free shipping by keeping with the max 10% off minimum advertised pricing. So they can be a better deal than I. They sell a lot more volume and can afford to buy 30 adjustables and then ship them 1st class for a couple bucks. Spreads out proclip's 9.50 shipping that way.

The iphone adjustable is the one pictured above with my epic. It fits well. The edges of the epic are rounded so there's enough of the phone that fits in the grooves to give it a secure fit.

I can now verify dbpaddler's claims. The adjustable works perfectly with the Epic in landscape mode as well. If anyone is waffling about paying for a ProClip mount, don't wait any longer. They're solidly built and the angle bracket for my car puts the phone in the most natural and perfect position for driving. It's like they sat in the drivers seat and figured out exactly what would be right for my vehicle.

I can also attest to the quality service dbpaddler gives. I got my shipment very quickly and professionally at a nice little discount over ProClip's web prices.

Thanks for the props. They actually do sit in every car to work out the solution. Can't imagine it's an easy task figuring out all the cracks and crevices they can clip into, keeping the location convenient and hopefully avoiding the vent area if possible. Though they are great locations from a safety and visibility point of view.

ProClip's Bean Bag mount. Nice one too. Comes with the angled mount so you can easily add any holder with AMPS mounting capability. So that with the adjustable would do the job. And the friction plate is removable from the holder so you can break it down if you're traveling with it. Can offer both for $72 + 4.50 for shipping. Ultimately saving you 15% between the discounts on the product and shipping.
