Long press soft keys

Not sure if this is common knowledge, but long-pressing your soft keys can bring up useful shortcuts for you.

Menu - Long pressing menu will bring up a software keyboard no matter where you are. I'd imagine this is more useful for phones that don't have a hardware keyboard, but I've found use for it in Quickoffice when I wanted to use Swype, since Quickoffice doesn't automatically bring up a keyboard.

Home - Long pressing home will bring up your 8 most recently accessed apps.

Back - As far as I can tell, it doesn't do anything.

Search - Long pressing search of course brings up the voice command prompt, which we all love so much.

I wish I could reassign the long-press of the Search button to something else. I have one or two apps that would 'like' to use this key for their own functions & I don't use voice commands much...

Any ideas, short of rooting my Droid2?

TIA, seeker

There's an app called mutitasking pro, you can reassign either your home button or long search to bring up a running apps list to kill them

Helpful. Thanks!

I'm a total Droid 2 newbie so have a ton to learn.
