Root Cm6 ???

I use the 7.6 Snap Kernel with Turbo and I don't have to partition my sd card at all. It is also the only stable Kernel I've used with CM6. Others I've tried including Kings Kernel's and Netarchy and other Snap kernels all caused boot loops and force closes on my phone. 7.6 is the only one I've never had this happen once to date. Been running it since it came out.

I also ran CM6 without partitioning my sd. I would have satyed with it if the VVM worked a bit better. I couldn't stand the text messages for a voicemail.

This is my ROM of preference... it's fast, free of clutter and htc sense services running in the background and eating up memory, it's really stable as well.
no bloatware whatsoever, ROM is just 70mb, dont forget to download the GApps zip (google apps) or you will not have market, gmail, maps, etc...

there's many versions of the snap kernel, but 7.6 is definately the best... it's really fast and smooth out of the box, and offers great battery life. it comes with a feature that u can choose to activate if u like, TURBO. it improves I/O performance and makes your phone score 2500 in quadrant. although that necessarily translates directly into real life performance, it does make the phone faster, and does not affect battery life. It does not require any partitioning of your sd card either.

all you have to do, is bea able to live without sense, which is not that hard anyway, as there's many replacements for widgets and stuff. the only thing is that 4g, hdmi, and fm radio dont work (though the cyanogen team is working on this, and might be implemented in the next release)

if you have anymore questions ask away, im sure someone here will be glad to help u!

ENJOY!!

with the snap kernel you need to partition your sdcard

it has been so long since i used cm6, trying this kernel now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802380
and I kinda like it, but still sense based

Says who? There was only 1 snap Kernel that required a partition and it was only to ramp up read/writte speeds and to bump ur Quadrant scores.Other than that any Snap Kernel will work just fine without a partition.

On the other hand CM is IMO the best ROM out there even with the missing features that we all know, but that shouldn't be an issue unless u have 4G in ur are,FM radio and HDMI I don't see any real life usage for them,I'm sure the radio on ur car and your Blueray player will do a better job.

Get ready to experience a super fast ROM.

In the above quoted video it is suggested to format your SD card to create the Ext2 partition which will allow the ROM to move your apps and data from /data to the Ext2 partition. I've noticed when I've flashed other ROMs that it looks for an Ext2 partition and when it doesn't find one it just ignores that feature and moves on with the install. Perhaps that is the same thing that happens with CM6.

That can be done with any ROM-Kernel combination, the fact that is recommended it doesn't mean that you must do it for snap to work properly. This was only required with Snap 7.1 if I'm not mistaken. No other snap will required an SD card partition.
