Ive had my Vibrant for about 2 days. When I got it I played around with it for a bit and then downloaded a bunch of applications that I wanted.

Now I seem to have a problem when I exit out of an app it takes about 5-10 seconds for the homescreens apps to reappear. Happens pretty frequently but not all the time. Most frequently when I press the home button.

Also has kicked me out of the sims game twice. Ive run Task killer and tried ending processes to see if it would clear this up and it doesnt. I also don't have gps or edge running. I dont really have all that many apps up on the main screens. I have 15 apps on the 3rd page plus a folder with games, a clock/weather widget + 4 apps and a vlingo shortcut on the 4th, google shortcut and 8 contact shortcuts on the 5th, and nothing on the 1,2,6,or 7th. And for memory I have 9.11 phone available out of 12.7, 472 MB ava out of 1.8 GB on sd and 1.56 available on application storage.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to the world of the Samsung Galaxy S series of phones.

The lag problem is rather...infamous, shall we say? It's not you or anything you're doing. That's the nature of this beast as presented to us from Samsung.

It has mainly to do with a proprietary file system used by Samsung. Many are baffled by its use and have devised ways to help make up for it.

As for me, I'm running one of the more advanced methods of dealing with it, not something I would suggest to someone new to this phone or Android in general.

There isn't a great deal you can do about the lag short of making some modifications to your phone. If you are so inclined, you might check out this:

RyanZA's OCLF 2.0 - Android app on AppBrain

It's a popular and easy to use program that will likely give you an improvement in performance. Such an app is never without risks, but I've not heard any truly gruesome horror stories related to this fix.

As always, be sure to back up any important information before using something like this. It's highly unlikely you will have a problem, but better safe than sorry.
