Move to the T-Mobile myTouch

I think this may pull me away form the N1 as my primary phone. Hopefully it has stock 2.2 or close to it.

I have to admit it's the first time that (on paper) I would consider departing from my N1. Still love my N1 but the mytouch has:

Pros:
faster internet speeds, new processor, front camera, wi-fi calling on tmo, slightly bigger screen, HD recording camera

Cons:
Not stock Android (clean Android is the best, has tethering, risky software version etc.); software updates depend on T-mo, not google.

Obviously if a Nexus Two is in the works it would have pretty close specs, and it will be worth waiting for.

Anyway, 10 months and still in love with my N1.

I think as far as stock Android goes, it's wonderful. However, the smartphone market isn't the same as it was a year ago. Froyo combined with high end specs will be more than fast enough and stable to boot. Aside from the proposed eye candy that gingerbread will have, lacking updates on this phone won't hurt it with the kind of performance it should have. Of course, there's also rooting the phone as long as T-Mobile or HTC doesn't attempt to make it too difficult to do.

na, i will pass on this one also.. the inly thing i see that may tear me away from my nexus is the motorola beast coming next year.. t2 or terminator they have nicknamed it so far. it was thought to be a verizon exclusive but word is now out that it will hit all carries, similar to what samsung did with the galaxy series

I believe that the rumor about Gingerbread is that sense, espresso and the like will be disabled.

I don't know why the carriers/manufacturers feel the need to mess up the phones with their software. It's a huge reason why I chose the Nexus.

Personally I can't see myself upgrading from the N1 for a LOOOOOOOOONG time. I don't even want to upgrade to a "faster" HSPA+ or WiMax phone in the future due to battery drain.

The Evo 4g gets ATROCIOUS battery life with 4g turned on. Its more like a novelty feature to feel good about shelling out $ for another phone upgrade but nothing that you would ever use consistently.

Is it worth forfeiting updates directly from Google and having freedom from carrier control just for a novelty feature like HSPA+ or WiMax??? Cant say that it is for me...

Front camera? Used to be the hot new feature to get people to upgrade in Europe about 5 years ago. Never really caught on and mostly just a novelty feature to feel better about upgrading.

WiFi calling? Already have Gizmo5/3cx free calling over 3g or wifi so its not anything I'd be interested in.

HD recording camera? Yawn... barely use the camera as it is so mainly just another novelty to get me to shell out more $ upgrading which I am not going to do.

I really can't think of any combination of features that would get me to give up my Nexus One. HDMI output of gallery app picture to TV? Yawn. SAmoled vs Amoled? Yawn. 18 mp camera? Yawn.

Nexus One is the perfect phone for me since I HATE carriers and the games they play trying to force up to upgrade by withholding updates to phones. The Nexus One is a breath of fresh air and complete freedom. No chance I give it up for any of the puny features on the horizon...

If I didn't the crappy calibration I would be happy. I have hit the button every time I use phone. It has gotten old. And I don't want to deal with the sending the phone back or holding 500 on a credit card. The FFC is the only thing I want. If they would actually put memory on the phone I would be sold. Still makes no sense why these phones don't come with at least 8gb internal. Micro SDs are up to 32 why can't HTC find a place to put something that small in every phone.

Just read a short clip about the terminator and it looks like we might have a winner. This would be a win for me since I think Motorola makes a better phone. The only problem is that I am probably going to have to sign back up on a contact to get it

I love my N1 and nothing right now will take me away from it but I think issues like the axis swapping are going to become a bigger deal when better games/apps are offered in the market. The touch pad on this phone has always been a big draw back.

Cant take the screen problems anymore going to do the swap process. I have to turn the screen on and off everytime I use it. Sometimes more than once just to send a text. Hopefully I get a new phone. Most likely I will have to pay something becasue I have dropped my phone.

Whether it is the Mytouch or the T2 its adios N1.
