Rumor: Gingerbread SDK Coming Soon?

Yeah, read it elsewhere but it got me wondering.... Will Motorola take just as long if not longer to release GB than it did for Froyo?

Because I don't see a reason it should take so long and I work in the software/firmware side of things here, in silicon valley.

Guess what I'm saying is I wouldn't be surprised if it takes forever to ever get to us, if not ever at all because of their marketing ideas...

I think we all are really hoping Blur is dropped from the project all together. It makes the phone slower, and adds unwanted time to development. So really the time depends a lot on their plans to continue/discontinue blur.

They need to just understand Blur is an Epic Failure.

Yeah, but you buy phones based on previous experience with companies. Motorola has pretty good support for its older phones, such as what's been seen with something as old as the D1 getting FroYo, even before newer phones by other companies. I won't refute that it's not practical for a company to indirectly force you into buying a recent product of theirs, but I wouldn't assume Motorola would do that.

This is where you are wrong. If you understand ANYTHING about American Capitalism in the 21st Century you know For Profit Companies are ALL ABOUT forcing you to buy the newer product! Why did the iphone take so long to get a nice camera or higher resolution screen or more ram or more memory? Why do companies give us 512mb ram instead of 1gb of ram? Why do they include crappy 2gb storage (SF) and then make you buy a 32gb memory card? (i know it includes a 16 gb card).

Anywho, EVERY company is about giving you the NEXT INCREMENTAL step of hardware that makes it PRECISELY that amount better that makes you feel like you are missing out. You proceed to plop down the hundreds of dollars of cash on it all the while something WAY MORE technologically advanced is sitting in a warehouse somewhere or is fully capable of being produced right now.

If you don't understand that concept and think that Motorola or other companies want to just spend their time and money supporting older products, you need to stop swallowing those crazy pills by the bucketfull! :D (no offense, all in good fun :))
