Muiu rom would definitely spice things up if you're rooted/willing to root. I'm on cm6 now but im a little tempted to try muiu myself.

Is there something you have to search for to download the ADW launcher? I see all of the themes require the program itself.

It's listed as ADW.launcher, so hopefully that'll thin the herd for you. I seem to find it a lit easier in appbrain where the filters help (hottest downloads for the day/ week/ all time) as it'll usually qualify for one of those whereas the themes wouldn't.

Regarding the themes, some just shade the icons while others will also swap out the wallpaper. For those that don't, you can also download an app called Zedge (free) so you can browse for something that'll fit whatever scheme you're running.

How would I start the ADW program? I haven't seen it in my app list from the home screen.

Once it's been downloaded, simply press your home key which should prompt a menu to pop up and give you the choice between ADW and the stock launcher. This popup will show up every time you try to go home, until you select one as your default. If you still have trouble, the freebie called Home Switcher will assist in that area.

It works. It's like I have a different phone now. As you can tell, tricking out cell phones isn't my specialty. I'm using the Mac theme now. lol

How about that, I didn't know that ADW ran themes. I run Launcher Pro. Either launcher just from the speed makes it like a new phone LOL.

other ways to "spice up your phone" As mentioned. start reading about rooting the phone. Then it really is a whole new world.

Cachemate is a must have for me. Nothing fancy to 'spice up' your phone, but regularly scheduled cache cleans clear up several MB's daily for me. Definitely one of my favorite apps.

Search for 'root' in the Market, a bunch will come up.

I'd recommend "Easy Root" as it worked for me and ran like a champ! It may still be banned from the Market, so you should be able to grab it here

Don't let their name throw you, it worked exceptionally well. It'll give you a warning (I took that to be a C.Y.A. on their part), turn on your BT (I assume there was an exploit in the bluetooth firmware that they used for automated rooting), and faster than you can blink you'll be rooted. What you do from there is where the risk and reward lie.

easy root wont work on 2.2 but this will its the newest and you use a computer. read the thread and youll see it is working great.

Good catch! I *completely* overlooked that. I'm glad I took advantage of it back on 2.1

also check out better cut or shorter cut. both allow you to creat shortcuts to apps and other things with custom icons. similar to theming, just different.
