I love my nexus but this forum is dying

The Nexus Forums will def be all the rage once we get any sort of leaks on Gingerbread but we need to install a better sense of community in the Nexus One owners out there.

I was going to start creating like 4-5 threads per day on "new" things to think about but then I didn't know if people would even want me to do that.

How do you increase traffic though with Nexus One owners? There are so few of us compared to iPhone owners so its not like we have a mass amount of cattle that are always grazing. We have intelligent owners that might not frequent the forums as much.

I personally love the community behind the Nexus and talking to one another but I guess any forum is going to die at one point or another. Any ideas mossburn on how to get this forum "popping" again?

My best guess is for the current forum members still lurking need to really start creating more quality threads that engage N1 owners to think and want to come back.

Indeed, I have no problems with my N1 that I don't cause by my own actions.

The N1 forum is dying because the device is 10 months old and it wasn't a mass market success like the Droid branded phones. Sure, the N1 has a loyal and dedicated fanbase but until Gingerbread comes out, there really isn't anything new to discuss. Maybe if some developers come out with some really interesting apps or roms, maybe it'll spark more discussion here.

Hook said it. I've just recently acquired a N1. It might be old considering how fast the industry is evolving, but it's still the best Android phone out there for me. And it just works. I have it set up, up-to-date, unlocked and loaded with apps, and not once have I stumbled across any sort of problems with it. It's rock solid, reliable and a blast to use. As a result, there's not that much to be discussed. As soon as new builds start leaking/releasing, I'm sure the conversation will pick up. But for now I guess everyone's just enjoying the device as it's so trouble-free. We can of course talk about how awesome it still is, but we all know that.

This added to my reasons to buy the phone, I like community support and the good guys seemed to carry Nexus.

I believe the forum slowly started slowing down after Google announced they were closing the Google Store...sad sad day Most of the members in here that still frequent the N1 forum are 'old blood', lol...and we basically know the ins and outs of our phone by now

Since the N1 has been out for 10 months, there's a lot of info here on it, so if somone has an issue, they'd most likey find the solution. Also, I've noticed quite a number of N1 owners that have sadly, 'moved on'. A few has returned (you know who you are) but the majority seems to be happy with their new phones. I see old N1 users in other phone forums and it kind of makes me sad, lol.

Im constantly looking at newer phones and so far all fall short of my nexus. They're all lacking at least one or more things that would be essential for me to consider upgrading otherwise in my humble opinion moving from the nexus would be a downgrade as i see it.
And yes i say that taking into full consideration the whirlwind of android devices that are currently out; they all fall short. This phone is just pure android; literally! Amoled screen, dual mic for noise cancellation, camera flash, not to mention its first in line for google updates.

I definitely see my self having this phone for sometime to come. I originally had the t-mobile version before i switched to At&T. I love the fact its a gsm phone. After growing used to touch screens i no longer want a keypad. I love the trackball... Actually i love the fact it glows different colors touch pads cant do that.
Only way i would replace this phone is if the potential device had an equal or better resolution screen, a front facing camera, a better or equal processor and a camera flash oh yeah and NO KEYBOARD. The device would have to be rootable Ive played with sense and touch wiz phones and decided i NEEEEED stock android; especially stock android running launcherpro. Any and all that extra bloatware and manufacture UIs is just that... BLOATWARE not to mention a waste of ram.
However seeing as how there may not be any nexus 2 i would be willing to give the new sense UI a spin... and then eventually drop it for a stock rom :-D.
This phone hasnt failed me yet so i have no reasons to post only thing i have an issue with are my carrier and certain apps and im always looking for replacements for those as well but only if i can take my nexus with me ;-)

My Nexus is my first Android (Smartphone in general) so I have never touched any of the other UIs. I'm not sure if I really like it, I think I might like Sense but I definitely need an option to turn off the UI and go vanilla.

There might not be a Nexus Two, but there will be a developer phone that will replace the Nexus One when the time comes. If this phone embodies what the Nexus one has and more, I will definitely get it

I don't post much at all but i really do enjoy the phone. I keep messing with it and tweaking it here and there.

I think i'm just about ready to root, but we'll see.

I will agree though i rarely check this forum anymore and it is pretty dead. I attribute it to 1 dead phone and 2 everyone is out enjoying theirs

Well Androids come in all sorts of flavors.

The way I look at it, people don't necessarily have to ask a android specific question in the nexus one forum, but can rather branch out and ask it in the games and/or app forums. It's not a bad idea to poke your head out a little. ;-)

I have a question... has anyone come up with a way to replace the N1 trackball (like a trackpad or clear cover) so that the LED is still functional? I recall there was a thread about some one looking into this, but nothing ever became of it.
