Root anyone having issues with bettercut?

You can't do it the usual way by just opening Bettercut.

Here is how you do it..............

Long press the home screen and select shortcuts
then select Bettercut
Then select activity
Pick the app or whatever you want to change and make a shortcut for
Now change things like icon and name
Hit create

enjoy.............

Let me know if it works. Does for me everytime

That is how I do it (i've used it for 4-5 months), but now when i press create it just goes back to the screen where i select"select activity" and no pop up comes up that says created...and the icon is not created when i go back to the home screen.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling bettercut to no avail.
I had this issue before and fixed it by switching roms. However, i really like UD 1.0 and do not want to switch b/c of this.
I even tried anycut and that also didn't work.
thanks.

no. i press select activity and all the apps come up. I then select app, change name, select icon and press create. It then goes back to previous screen where i pressed "select activity". No icon was created. It is weird. It used to work fine. I suspect it is a ROM issue compatibility. I did use shortercut and it worked fine, but i want to get bettercut working.
thanks for helping

thanks, i checked out desktop visualizer...icon packs are weak. But thanks for the lead

Agreed on the icon packs, but you can go out and find icon packs or individual icons elsewhere, I took quite a few from here:

http://androidforums.com/droid-roms/172574-theme-pack-bugless-theme-collection.html

If you look through there there are some zips for different launchers that have icons in them. I used quite a few from the galaxy s theme in that thread. Simply save the icon on your sd and use Desktop Visualizer to change your desired icon.
