What do you expect from Sprint's next 4G phone?

What would you like to see?

Besides a few obvious fixes like GPS and the newest Anroid OS, I would like to see Dolby Speakers and a bigger screen. I listen to music all the time through the stock speaker.

I'd like to see if they could push the screen out to the edges with a slightly bigger footprint. 5" or 5.3" screen maybe? I'm sure not everyone wants a bigger phone, but I wonder where the "sweet spot" in size will settle in at. Kinda like golf clubs.

I would like to see a Nexus Two type device with a physical QWERTY, Super AMOLED quality display, pixel density that rivals the iPhone 4, and I say a 4.3 inch display is a good :cooml:

I'd like to see 4g in my area first but I know that won't happen. The Epic is still worth the $$ though. In the next 4g installment I would like to see a phone that has zero issues out of the box. I would also like a leprechaun in a pimp outfit to drop off a truckload of gold and a dozen gorgeous women at my doorstep. Which do you think is more likely?

I expect to see an HTC slider with a 3.7-3.8 inch screen that looks similar to the Merge/Lexicon and G2.

For my next 4G phone, I would like it to feature a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 300+. I also want it to have a FFC (at least 3MP), Slide out QWERTY similar to the Epic, Super fine quality camera and camcorder (1080p recording) with flash. Also I would like it to have the fastest processor and GPU combo available along with 1GB of Ram. I would like for interernal storage to be 16GB as well.

I want everything I guess lol

Sorry to be a bad sport, but does this thread have anything to do with the Epic 4G? I think it should be moved to the Sprint section. (maybe the Sprint 4G sub-thread)

You're probably right on both points (1- being a bad sport and 2- this probably doesn't belong here). However, to the second point, everyone in here has an Epic so it's kinda nice to hear the thoughts of other like-minded people...

And +1 for a premium camera.

The only real Thanksgiving Android Surprise I can see coming from Sprint might be a Sprint version of the Fascinate, just because I don't see it as being important enough for Verizon to even *care* whether it's exclusive to them, and it would give Sprint a phone that kind of sits halfway between the Evo and Epic... appealing to buyers who might think the Evo's getting a little old (it'll be almost 6 months by Thanksgiving), or who prefer a phone with AMOLED and no keyboard.

Other than that, I don't see anything groundbreaking android-wise coming from Sprint until next year. If they DON'T release a Sprint "Fascinate" with 4G around Thanksgiving, the obvious alternative would be for Sprint to add a blinged-out "Special Edition" Evo that's basically the same as the current one, but maybe a differently-colored case (I kind of think a Sprint phone that's black with hornet-yellow trim would be kind of cool if it came down to that) just to make it seem "fresh" again for the Christmas season.

I really don't think Sprint needs to put out another High End 4g Phone this year. If they do, they'll end up cannibalizing the Epic 4g's sales which would lead to the lessening of support quicker than anticipated.

IF I remember correctly, Sprint has 2 high end 4G phones, qwerty and slate forms, and then released 3 low to mid end range phones to catch the people that don't need all the same power that we want. That's 5 phones already and Sprint isn't the biggest company that people will just be driven to buy every type of phone they have in stock.

I think US Cellular has that one covered but who knows what to expect.

I think you may be more on target with the "blinged-out 'Special Edition' Evo", though.

Come to think of it, I would love if they released a World version of the Epic 4G, I heard it was supposed to be like that back when we were still listening to rumours and I was very disappointed to hear that wasn't true. If we had that, this would make my day.

As far as Windows 7, CDMA companies aren't getting that until 2011 so that won't be on the agenda for a while.

Yes. When need a Gingerbread device, or at least a Froyo device that will be upgradeable to Gingerbread. I'm sure Sprint will get a Windows Phone 7 device sooner or later.

Is correct.

In the future, feel free to report the post so the mods can be made aware it needs moved. You've got to remember that we can't and don't see every thread and post :)
