New Update, No Improvement on Battery Life?

Received the update this morning, usually I would be at 90 or 80 percent after a couple of hours leaving the charger. Even if I was listening to music and browsing. People have been saying I'm still at 100 percent after 4 hours of playing with the phone. I was at 90 after 45 minutes after unplugging the charger. Did my battery just get worse? Anyone have this problem?

mine is no better after the update. actually seems worse but that might be a perception thing more than reality

Anyone saying they are playing with the phone for 4 hours and are still at 100% are either leaving it plugged in or just BSing. Obviously every user will have different battery experience depending on apps used and settings.

I haven't updated yet but am hoping to see some improvement in battery life.....just to help until Seidio releases their extended battery.

Mine is at 70% and has been off the charger for 3 hours and 44 minutes. I've checked one text, sent one text, and checked weather bug. No bluetooth, wifi, gps, or email app running, etc. From this info, it *looks* like my phone is doing a lot better after the update. But, as I haven't really done much with it today, it's hard to say for sure.

I my phone has been off the charger for 2 hours and 45 min and its still at 100%. I have made no call but the screen has been on almost non stop, I have been on the browser pretty much most of the time. and I did have the bluetooth radio on for about 15 min

you must have some sort of super battery.. would you be willing to swap with me? :)

After 3 hours of use i am down to 60% but i have push e-mail for exchange and gmail and i do play with it quite a bit so that would explain my battery issues.

I also sit in a big building most of the day and my connection drops to 1x quite frequently so i am sure that does not help at all. i figured it

cdodge, I pretty much have the same configuration as you but I have 3g at work. I'm about 60-70% after 10hours on pretty heavy playing and 70% after 12 hours on barely touching it except for checking emails and sending text.

You suck! j/k i am just jealous. Maybe the signal quality my building is the biggest factor for the battery issues i am having. i do have the beautiful widget with the weather but that is the only widget i am using.

I will see how things go this weekend when i am not at work.

that is impossible. your phone is obviously not reporting battery status correctly.

I've not noticed significantly better or worse battery life since the update. I have heard that they have changed how backlighting works on the slide-out keyboard, so maybe if you use that a lot you might see an increase in battery life due to that.

One other issue is that 3rd party apps might have some subtle incompatibilities with 2.01 (for instance, I've had several force closes from Home++ since the update, never had one before the update) which might affect your battery results.

I'm going to wait a few days (always change my normal behavior after for a while after an update like this, playing w/the phone more, checking out things, etc.) and then do some rough compares to before the update. Bottom line I've decided to keep the phone, so the info may be interesting, but won't help me much other than confirming whether or not I want to buy an enhanced capacity battery from Seidio when they make it available...

I can vouch for this. After 18 hours of moderate usage my phone was @ 40% before I decided to charge it back up.
