Root Difference between Back-ups

So I have been doing messing around with my phone more and more and love it. I got some great advise before I started really messing with it and it was "back-ups are your friend" So as I read and do more I have noticed there are two different kind of system back ups. A nandroid, which is created in recovery mode or a Current ROM back-up in ROM Manager.

My questions is which one is better, or what is the difference?

I believe they are exactly the same. Whether you use the bootstrap recovery or rom manager they are both booting into clockwork recovery and making a nandroid backup.

They are the same. ROM Manager boots into recovery and creates a backup there as well.

There is also the ability to backup app/data/settings as well using apps like MyBackup Pro, and Titanium Backup.

I would note that as long as you stay on the same installation, either will work great. However, if you are on one installation or ROM, and switch to another, there have been reported issues with Titanium causing issues when restoring to another install, so my personal recommendation is MyBackup.

titanium works fine if you just restore missing apps and data. You sometimes run into trouble when you restore all apps and system data.

MyBackup works great but it's so slow to get started. To restore a single app can take 10 minutes due to the way they have to load then unzip the file. Drives me nuts. But it does do the same thing as TiBku and it's free and doesn't require Root to run so it has it's advantages also.
