For those wanting to get rid of the "Ultimate Droid" branding on the lockscreen, you could do what I did.

This is my step-by-step.
Save the image you want as the lockscreen, as a png file somewhere on your SD card. (I also renamed it to lockscreen_background, not sure if the renaming is needed.)
Get the NinjaMorph app from the Market.
- Open NinjaMorph
- Start checks
- New project
- system
- framework
- framework-res.apk
- res
- drawable-hdpi
Find lockscreen_background.png - touch it (It will ask what you want to replace it with.)
Locate the png you saved earlier - touch it
- yes
- back
- Finish project
- framework-resapk
- yes
- yes or no, your choice (I hit yes, haven't had any problems.)
- ok
- Yes (to delete/cleanup project)
- Then reboot.

You can see I also went with the rotary lockscreen in the Ultimate Droid Setting.

It resets the wallpaper to the default one, just change it back to whatever you want.

Hope this helps.:D

I would much rather remove the "Ultimate Droid" logo from the lockscreen though. If anyone finds a way to do this please let me know.

i tried getting into the framework-res.apk to manually pull the ud logos from the lock screen as this too annoyed the living hell out of me. None of the other roms have ever been so blatantly "branded" and i hated the look of the lockscreen. Unfortunately my lack of knowledge on proper procedure led me to bootloops and restoring.

Lock screen logo - Ultimate Droid

in that thread is this link:

I downloaded and dropped into Metamorph folder /sdcard/android themes/

I unzipped and it kicked back with an error message, went back into metamorph and applied anyways and it worked, removed the lockscreen images. Not sure if it will work with your themed versions but cant really hurt to give it a try.

Fantastic. Don't have time to try now but will post when I do.

EDIT: Ok...couldn't wait. All worked flawless as you described. The only problem is the png I created is vertically compressed on the lockscreen. I will play with it later and add as necessary...thanks again.

FWIW, comments like yours are the reason why guys like me don't release themes and ROMs. I'm capable. Just not willing to put up with the "compliments".

I am sorry persons such as myself are holding you back. If you're able to overcome this and do what you mentioned I will try it out and donate appropriately while still offering my feedback, positive and/or negative.

I'm having a minor issue with Bluetooth. It seems that if I turn off Bluetooth on the power control widget and turn it back on, the phone reboots itself straight to the "Ultimate Droid" boot screen. Can anyone else duplicate this? Or is it just a quirk in MY Droid?

Ok, so I played around with it a little and couldn't replicate this issue. Maybe I have to give it a some time before it will replicate, but thus far it works just fine for me.

I never use bluetooth anyway..but I did just re add my power widget with bluetooth to replicate the issue and couldn't. Working fine for me as well.

As for the UD logo on the lockscreen, I don't mind it. It actually looks pretty cool with my wallpaper . Hell if I were able to do what blackdroid does I'd try to get my name out there as well. If I'm going to sport UD on my phone, might as well let everyone know :D. ALTHOUGH it would've been a nice gesture to add a feature to remove it from the lockscreen like you can the verizon wireless text (that's all that bothered me because it overlapped the music controls, but it's nice that it is removable).

Besides, most people use a theme and the theme will likely brand itself in some way as well, whether in the notification drop down or someplace else.

Just my .02

Does anybody have an issue with the AM/PM showing and hiding? This setting does nothing for me: AM or PM always show up whether it's checked or not.

Settings - UD Settings - User Interface - Status Bar - Show AM/PM for 12-hour clock

Yep, does nothing for me as well. I'd like to get rid of it, but it's certainly no deal breaker.

Doesn't work for me either. Not that I care, just tried it a couple of days ago, rebooted, and nothing changed.

Works, but still having problems with vertical distortion/compression of the picture I choose.

This method also works.

However, both methods listed leave "greyed-out" bars which interfere with the revolution theme. One bar is located where the "Ultimate Droid" branding used to be and one bar is located where I assume the lockscreen music interface would be located (I don't use this feature).

Just thought I would post in case anyone else is looking for a solution to this. Will post if anything else seems to work.

Hey guys,
I installed UD1.0 last night and so far seems pretty good. Although after an hour, my apps did not automatically download (even with a 'jolt' in the market by downloading something else - which has worked before), so I had to restore manually from TiBU.

The only real problem I experiencing is Gmail 2.3 app. I previously had UD.8 and once in a while I would get a notification and when I went into Inbox, the unread count was accurate, but the email didn't show... I had to go into Show Labels->Show All to retrieve the email. This happened randomly, so I pretty much let it go.

Now with UD 1.0, it happens EVERY TIME and also I never get a Notification even though the settings indicate I should. I even uninstalled and restored the app with TiBU.

Does anyone have an idea what is going wrong? I might have to flash back to my UD.8 nandroid if this can't be fixed.

Thanks!

EDIT: Figured out the notification and syncing issue. In the Account & Sync Settings, Gmail was not checked (but Calendar and Contacts were). Still don't know why I can't always see my Inbox items, but that's probably more Gmail, then UD.

Thanks. This ROM seemed to have bad battery life for me. I switched to LFY 1.7 to test it out. I liked all the features, but i hate worrying about the battery.

Have you tried using a different kernel? I am using Chevy's 1.1Ghz LV kernel and have been getting about 26-28 hours of battery (from 100% to 15%) with moderate data usage and heavy texting.

Ok, maybe its just me but the droid 2 version of swype IIRC is supposed to have speech to text enabled. I have installed, reinstalled, cant get speech to text to work from within swype.

Has anyone gotten this feature to work? This is one major feature that I like from the multitouch keyboard, the stock keyboard, and the HTC_IME keyboard that we dont have in Swype.

Hey all! I just rooted a couple days ago with the UD 1.0 and using it stock. Everything seems to work great except for a couple things.

1. Some of my apps sometimes won't update if there is an update available. Just fails.

2. The wireless tether feature is hit or miss. I didn't know if there were any little quirks or sequence of events that you need to do or "wait" after doing something before you try to connect with the laptop or the iPod Touch (I know, apple, but my kids love it)

3. I tried to move some of my apps to the SD card to free up space on the phone. Some move, but others say "not enough room" I don't know how that could be being that I have 12gb of free space on the SD card.

Thanks for your help!
