I think i discovered a huge issue with the new firmware. When i have a second line calling me the screen does not wake up allowing me to switch to the second call. In the past, when a second call comes in the proximity sensor would wake the screen and allow me to take or reject the call. Now i cant even see who is calling. Since i use the phone for business, this is a big, big issue. Anyone else experience this?

Can anyone please check this for me please by calling their voicemail and then dialing their own cell # from another phone please. Thanks

I feel this is wrong since before the update, the screen would wake immediately when a new call came in. What are your thoughts? the phone screen should become visable immediately when the phone is removed from your face like it did before. Now it is only instant when you dont have a second call coming in, there is no reason the screen should be delayed with a second call.

Have you tried rebooting your phone since the update? A factory reset?

Short answer is no. Mine is working normally after the Odin/JI6 update.

I just tested in bluetooth headset, speakerphone and handset modes and my screen wakes up on an incoming call every single time.

I'm self employed and use this phone daily in my business so I know what you mean, I couldn't tolerate a problem like the one you mentioned.

Thanks, I tried both a reset and a battery pull, made no difference. I am relucatnat to do a factory reset due to the laziness of re-downloading all my apps and setting things up to me liking. I wonder what other people experiences are? Anyone else want to chime in before i take the plunge and possibily reset my phone for nothing

You're welcome. And I know exactly what you mean. It really is a PITA to factory reset. But the update shouldn't have any effect on your screen waking.

Sometimes the software needs a kick in the ass. Take this experience for example: http://androidforums.com/samsung-vibrant/196401-gps-results-after-manual-update-ji6.html#post1725399

i think i experienced the same thing today, i havent decide what to do.

What are your choices? Factory restore? I know this is a widespread issue cause my friends with vibrants now have the same issue

To be honest if this continues, I might dump this handset and get the new Mytouch HD that is supposed to be released in early November with froyo, and front camera, etc.

its been a few days now since many of us have gotten the update and i cant believe how so few people have complained about this. It is so annoying not to see who is calling on the second line

Just checked out my phone (JI6 update via OTA) and the call waiting worked fine, showing me who was calling.

Sorry you're having issues.
Does the screen light up immediately after you remove the phone from your face? My eventually does after 3 rings or so. I even just went thru the agony of doing a factory restore and i still had the problem.

I just tested mine twice to see if my results are similar. First I placed an outbound call, once the call was completed I called my Vibrant from my land line. I removed the phone from my ear upon hearing the call waiting tone and the screen remained dark for 2 inbound rings (listening to the land line on speakerphone) or about 5 seconds. Not really a problem but it would be nice if it was instant.
