What were your reasons for replacement epic?

1st epic had an issue with the menu button, had to press it hard or multiple times to get it to work.

2nd epic, the main speaker blew out (not the ear piece speaker) a few days after getting it.

Im on my 3rd one. I have all the volume settings on medium on this phone. Not going to risk blowing my speaker out again. Even though, I've got a friend who has had his epic since launch day and has all his volume settings on max.

I originally took it back because of the horrible GPS my first Epic had (before I realized or knew it was a problem). This was actually worse than my current (2nd) Epic because I couldn't get a lock at all with my first. Now I'm hoping to get this second one exchanged because the keyboard is getting horribly scratched every time I slide out the keyboard [Link]. I can hear it grinding on the keyboard and oddly enough, no wobble to my screen. Maybe a little wobble = no scratches on the keyboard.

I'm having the same issue with my Epic the menu button has to be pressed quite a few time to get it to work. What keeps me from taking it back is I'm not sure if the phone is acting up because of my Zagg invisibleSHIELD. Did you have a protector on your screen? and was it a big deal to get it replaced?

I had a screen protector but it was only on the visible screen not the entire face of the phone. I bought mine at RadioShack, and when I went in to exchange it. I told the guy my issue with the phone, and he looked at it.. played with it. It was obvious that it was an issue because he would tap the other buttons and they worked fine, but when he tapped the menu button.. he had to do it a few times to get it to work. He then told me thats the way those buttons are, that they are capacitive buttons and they need to be pressed firmly. I told him, Im aware of that but when you need to tap just that one button multiple times while the others work fine with a very light tap... its an issue. So he exchanged it.

Also, look at the bezel around the screen. The area by the menu button is MOST likely even with the bezel of the phone. Then you look around the whole screen, you'll see the screen sits a tiny bit below the bezel. You can show that to the people at the store when you try to exchange it if they want to try to tell you its not an issue.

#'s 1,2 & 4 were due to keyboard issue that is posted about many times over ... #3 had a slight keyboard issue but other wise the screen would do weird things & wouldnt respond ... hard resets did not fix so back she went ..... #5 is pretty good as of now .... the keyboard issue is there but certain apps it happens less frequent

Speaker and microphone issues prompted me to return the phone within the 30 days....

BUT...

Happily, an in-store tech simply replaced the components. The phone sounds better than it EVER did and callers report that I sound good from their end. I say happily, because otherwise I have a great phone. No GPS issues or any of the other issues that many are reporting. ALso, I was NOT looking forward to reinstalling and all that noise.

Hey i got a question for all of you who are on the TEP from Sprint. When you are on phone number 2 and returning it for number 3, does sprint charge you the 100fee to get the new one. Or are they giving a refurb? i dont understand how if i exchange phone number 2 for problems, how i go about getting another because i wont have the 30 grace period to return it. If theres a problem does sprint have to get you a new one without the fee?

Past the first 30 exchange period your phone is covered for the first YEAR under the phone's warranty. There are no deductibles and your phone is either fixed by an in store tech or replaced with a refurb. For the first year you are only insuring against loss or theft.

BTW, past the first year if a phone has to be replaced under the insurance, they still give you a refurb. Even with the $100 deductible.
