 I am wondering if I have a software problem. I have tried everything to shut off the haptic feedback when dialing a number to make a call. Haptic is shut off for the 4 main buttons at the bottom of the screen and it is off for text typing, but it will just not shut off for dialing phone numbers. Am I missing something here?

Thanks for your help :)

I can't remember exactly, but try a couple of things.

1. Try hitting menu, options/settings while in the dialer to correct the problem.
2. DL "Spare Parts", locate the haptic feedback options there, it will give you more control
3. You can try Dialer one, I think it can disable haptic feedback
4. as a last resort, you could change to Custom Rom CM6, which is non-sense and has no haptic feedback on dialer, if desired.

Thank you for responding, TF....

1. I tried item number one and found no ability to shut off haptic in the dialer options and settings.

I guess what I really would like to know is do the rest of you have the ability to completely shut off haptic in all screens and functions without having to download an app to do it. I can't believe that HTC would not allow you to fully disable haptic, especially on something you use so often during the day, like dailing a number. This is why I think I may have a software problem, but I am just not sure.

Someone had a thread going on this a while back. Pretty sure we never found a way to turn it off in the dialer. Cm6 uses dialer one if I understand correctly thus it isn't an issue. I make so little phone calls that it doesn't really bother me but it is a lame oversight on htcs part.

Thank you, Mr. Ed. I was afraid there was some kind of software error and my EVO was not able to shut the haptic off when dialing. I really have to wonder why HTC would go to the trouble to have a haptic shut off in settings and yet not shut off haptic for all the screens and functions. It really does not make sense. No pun intended. Now I need to figure out how to shut the haptic off with an app. I don't know if it is just me, but I really do not like haptic.

dialer one is a dialer app but it completely replaces the sense app...

no experience with that one tho
