Im sure the HTC Inc got #2 because of its AMOLED screen similar to the Epics.

of course everyone is entitled to their opinion... not sure why you had to stop in and call the review a joke.

i have both and while the evo is nice, the incredible is a little better with its amoled screen and build quality. evo has a big screen but with the same resolution.... doesn't make much sense to me having .5" icons on the home screen. maybe if you are blind its a good thing i suppose.

The kickstand is pointless...
The larger screen for viewing video and interacting with small weblinks is pointless...
The HDMI port is pointless...
The front facing Camera is pointless...
The Wifi Hotspot capability is pointless...
The 4G capability is pointless...
The doubled ROM capacity is pointless...


I'd take an OLED screen over those specs any day... I mean, any night. Because you can't see it in sunlight.

And that's basically what it comes down to. The EVO is HTC's top of the line product. Sure there are some things that could be considered better on the Incredible to some like the screen, track ball, and smaller size but that's about it.

It would be generous to consider it a draw because they trade off in a few areas but obviously there is still more in the EVO that ouweighs the Incredible. It depends where your priorities lie in a phone but overall considering everything, the EPIC and EVO draw for their differences and the Incredible comes after IMO.

OLED are not that great and useless in sunlight. The evo screen is VERY bright and vibrant, all the features you rate as pointless may be extremely useful to some users. Evo gets knocked in this review for battery life and $10 charge from sprint, who the F cares? should you base product reviews on pphone features, not carrier features, even with charge sprint is still cheaper..WTF CNET

All these reviews are stupid and useless. Most people allready have the carrier of their choice and will therefore buy the best phone for their needs from the few the carrier offers..

im tierd of the evo vs iphone threads etc.

the epic vs evo threads are old but at least relevant since they are the same carrier. But even then, you like slideout keyboards get the f'n epic, you want thinner,no keyboard, kickstand, 8mp cam, bigger screen, sexy looks, better quality/feel, and a huge screen that everytime you pull it out of your pocket, you and anyone standing near you mentally says wow, then get the Evo... bottom line.

the evo s**ts on the incredible and calls it its B**ch. Anyone who thinks otherwise has never held an evo in there hands. Thats like buying a honda over a BMW listed for the same price, just because you dont NEED the luxuries.

the incredible is more of a nexus 1 comparison.

i know right? Make up your f'n mind Cnet. Battery life? come on, it like a mini laptop. And there is plenty you can do to help out battery life if they did a little research.

thats why i turn to forums for product reviews and such. Most of these places get there hands on a phone/product for a few days and push it to its max. Not typical day to day use. Even in a 4g area you dont need to run it all day. Nor do you need to have wifi, 100% brightness, or even bluetooth on all the time. Even streaming vids is usually fine with 3g.

What about vs the DX? That's the only (non-biased) pairing that I could imagine would be close. Granted, Evo still has several hardware advantages over the DX (kickstand, FF camera, and 4G) and Sense, I still could imagine it being a very close comparison against DX's physical keys, faster processor, and better build quality reputation.

Good point. I was shopping with Verizon, and Sprint with the $10 charge is less than anything comperable from Verizon. That should not even be considered.

Android phones are being introduced on a weekly basis so calling a 2010 top 5 is a bit premature, no?
