Root which roms are non sense....HTC Evo

ok so I had stock for quite a while and got tired of it lol. I then went to use Fresh which i liked it but seemed to slow down the phone a little with all the sense crap on it. I am now using Cyanogenmod 6 and so far i love it. I was just wondering which other rom's out there don't use sense UI, also which rom works best on the htc evo and or which kernel....i am simply using the stock 1500mah battery but am really thinking about buying those battery's on ebay 3500mah ones. thanks again.

I really like VirusRom Airborne RC2. I ran it with kings kernel #10 and it runs fast and smooth. I'm now using for the last 24 hours Miui which is sweet! Its very fluid and smooth and while my mflops and longbench aren't as good as with virusrom, the general feel of it is smoother and faster. Still some bugs to be worked out as it is a work in progress, but so far so good. Most of the chinese has been translated. I'm running the stock kernel with it and it's running at the stock speed. Also, when running virus rom, I have it OC'd to 1113mhz. Hope this helps!

If you are looking for a AOSP ROM,then stay with CM.There's nothing better out there.Now there's no such a thing as the best ROM-Kernel for the EVO,you won't find a one fits all kind of thing.Every phone has their own personality,si what can do wonders for me can be totally crap for you.Try different ROM-Kernel combinations and stay with the one that you and your phone feel comfortable with.

ok gotcha. so far I dont have anything against CM 6.0.0. so far my phone runs a heck of a lot faster then using any rom with Sense (sorry fresh). also the free memory also is a big difference. Only thing i can tell is wi-fi seems to have issues and also i am not able to successfully connect to my phone using wireless tether like i could with fresh.

If you like RC2, you will really like RC3!!! Loaded up with Netarchy 4.1.8 CFS, It rocks!!

Flashed the new Anthrax 4B1 earlier and its a great Sense rom but I'm switching back to Airborne right now.

I had to ditch the MIUI rom, I used it for a week about two weeks ago. It was beautiful, non-taxing on RAM, solid, had great sounds, great FPS but there was so much broken on it. I like that my SMS pulls all my contacts' facebook pictures, this was gone. MMS didn't work for me, camera was bad and couldn't use front facing lens, and often the keyboard would start auto closing sporadically (not force closing, just disappearing until I hit the cursor where I was typing to bring it back up again. Beyond frustrating).

Lastly, the launcher would get stuck in a force close loop.

Do you experience any of this?
