Hey everyone,
I have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.

Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.

Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?

Thanks in Advance :)

Hi CuBz

My turn to turn provider i see

Go into the MARKET - select your DOWNLOADS

then if you open each individual app, at the top of the screen

Check Box that says "ALLOW AUTOMATIC UPDATING"

just tick it and away you go

means you can choose which apps to do auto and which to do manual

hehehe

EDIT **unless you meant your market hasn't updated that allows you to do this**

That's what I remember seeing in a screenshot earlier on, but I don't have that option on mine :(

only thing i can think of is force closing Market and Market updater in your application manager in settings menu - then rebooting phone - possibly taking battery/sim out for 30 seconds first just incase that forces your phone to update your market settings

you rooted or not ?

Ok i'll give that a try now

and yes I am rooted, but have only been rooted for 2 weeks

and yes I am rooted

Well i don't know what i am talking about but it may be worthwhile if that option doesn't work out for you, seeing if rooted users have that update to the market or not - similarly with non rooted

just a thought - but actually might be logical

i myself am non rooted

Ok well I may do a factory reset. If I can get auto update after doing that, it will be worth it, otherwise I'll be an angry guy lol

EDIT: OK I unrooted, then checked, and it still wasn't there, so I re-rooted

Different market accounts updating at different times - though i find that hard to imagine

Go into application manager - then scroll through to findand open MARKET - do you have an option that says UNINSTALL UPDATES

if so try doing that then rebooting

** EDIT **

Just tried that method on mine and it updated the market back automatically within a few minutes - running on wifi

** EDIT AGAIN **

Just noticed there now seems to be smart searching as per normal google website - now you don't have to get the name accurate

I had no option to uninstall it, so I decided to re-install the OS using SEUS.

But halfway through it stopped updating, now I'm stuck with a dead phone, and although SEUS states it can still be updated, it will not update, I am just constantly getting "Please Wait" on SEUS, and on my phone I am just getting an image of a phone with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it, :(
