Verizon...

Because of the ****** over at Verizon, I can't watch TV or use broadband for about 24-48 hrs. Now I'm going to miss House & The Event today :(

What happened with your FIOS? Mine was out this morning. I'm a couple days late on my bill, so I called in to pay them. They said it wasn't related to billing and my service had not been turned off. Came back on a bit later. I'm in Southern California though, so almost definitely not the same issue.

They said we were late on our bill but we have auto payment so it was a mistake on their side.

Ahh...Verizon billing (in regards to Fios, not wireless) definitely has problems. You can look at broadbandreports.com in the forums and see that. In my case, it turned out that the power supply cable from the back up battery was loose. So it would connect at times, and then disconnect at other times. It was off too long, and the battery drained, hence the service interruption.

It could be worse. You could have Cablevision in NJ where we haven't had Fox since Saturday due to a dispute between the two sides. So not only am I missing shows (I watch 7 on Fox) but also the NLCS and the World Series next week plus Giants football games and whatever game they air as the double header. I WISH I could get my FIOS back because I never had any problems with it while Cablevision has been a disaster. The Internet goes out, the Channel Guide and remote control are super slow, I had to get a land line I didn't need and the menu/DVR is designed from the early 2000's.

My apartment building isn't wired with FIOS and I can't get Dish or Direct TV as a result. In NJ you are stuck with either Comcast or Cablevision depending on the County you live in unless you can get FIOS.
