I notice a lot of people download to there PC and then transfer to there phone, I was curious as to why people do this? I'm no expert on this stuff but I have been downloading these straight to my phone and then installing through ROM manager. Just seems like it saves the hassle and I haven't had a problem yet. is this not a good way to install ROMs or themes for that matter? Should I be downloading them to my computer?

do i need to update to the 2.2.1 frg83 or am I still good installings this on 2.2 frg22d?

Also, if I update will I lose root and have to root again using superoneclick v1.4?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, sometimes I am  but as far as I know there are no new enhancements with 2.2.1. All it did was close some root exploits. You're better off staying with FRG22. I am on FRG83 and see no difference.

Any browsing issues? I've been using the stock browser, as well as dolphin hd and the pinch-to-zoom feature is useless, and flash will not play. I've tried, p3 kernels, stock kernel, and chevy kernels (which have usually worked best for me) and nothing does the trick. My quadrant scores are also pretty low, but apparently that doesn't really matter anymore. Anyone else experiencing these issues? Ideas?

I liked the over all look and feel of this rom A lot of things with the UI I really enjoyed. Only problem was slayher heated my phone up so switched to another tried and true Kernel I ran on PE2 but it was still heating up more than usual. It did run a bit slower for me as well even over clocked so I went back to pe2 for now.

You probably got too much of that Frozen Yogurt still lingering in the nooks and crannies. I suggest soaking for awhile in hot water and dishwashing liquid. :D

I just tried this and now my phone won't turn on!?!

Seriously though, I had this problem with UD8, LFY, and CM6. I have gotten advice about wiping data and cache 3-5 times, wiping Dalvik, doing a factory restore but nothing seemed to allow me to get UD8 to reboot properly. How do completely remove files from a previous ROM to get back to the day I first rooted?

Thanks

Have you tried using a different kernel? I am using Chevy's 1.1Ghz LV kernel and have been getting about 26-28 hours of battery (from 100% to 15%) with moderate data usage and heavy texting.

Kratos

DAMN
That is insane. Your Droid must love that rom and kernel like they met in high school and fell in love, eloped, had kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and lived til they were 100 together and were still married and in love. That is how insane that is.

Yeah, I tried using the 1.0 Chevy's ULV kernel too. I think what's killing it is Doggcatcher downloading podcasts - the battery heats up for several minutes. I've changed it so that it only does it when plugged into power.

I'm not convinced this is a rom problem, so I might be back. I definitely miss the features.

My droid loves this kernel! I was using the stock kernel and was getting about 14-18 hrs battery life, but as soon as I flashed the Chevy kernel, it was like my Droid decided that it was in heaven. Let's just hope it stays this way forever.

Just courious, If I were to upgrade my phone to the Droid X and root it, can I still install this rom UD 10?

Nope. UD is for the original Droid and Droid Inc only (as far as I know). I'm not sure if Blackdroid is even planning to attempt to ROM for any other phones.

This seems to be the best Rom I've flashed since I started trying roms with BBv0.5, CyanogenMod 6, and LFY v.1.71. I didn't like any of these better than stock FRG22D, but now I think I've found my Rom!!!

I'm getting really low temps for the first time ever running a Slayer Kernel. My phone is usually always over 100F-140F running Slayer 1000MHz. The weird thing is though, is that I'm getting much lower Quadrant scores and Flash video barely plays. The audio plays but the video is extremely choppy. Like a still picture every second or two. I always stream South Park (WiFi) so this is a problem for me. I'm not sure what to try to make that better or why it's bad on this Rom.

Battery life is rockin'!!! LFY 1.71 with Slayer 1000MHz my battery died in 9 hours and temps were up in the 140 range. I'm coming up on 12 hours here and I have 50% battery left. I hope it can only get better from here since it's day one on this Rom. I flashed it last night.

I'm having trouble updating/installing Google search from the Market. Every time it will download but it will come up with "Installation unsuccessful."

Launcher Pro has never performed well for me. If I spend any time in an app and go back to home-screen it always takes 10-25 seconds to get my icons back.

Ok, maybe its just me but the droid 2 version of swype IIRC is supposed to have speech to text enabled. I have installed, reinstalled, cant get speech to text to work from within swype.

Has anyone gotten this feature to work? This is one major feature that I like from the multitouch keyboard, the stock keyboard, and the HTC_IME keyboard that we dont have in Swype.

I also have the same question, so if anybody could shed some light on this that would be great.

On a diff note this rom is fabulous. I'm using same set up as Kratos and getting similar if not longer battery life...so nice!

EDIT:nevermind I figured it out you just have to hit the menu key when swype is pulled up to type.
