I think ultimately it depends on money. I mean if my desire was away for repair and I was using a crappy old nokia, sure I would be tempted to buy a san francisco just for a laugh and to practice rooting etc. It seems to be a great phone and a bargain at that price, plus a handy spare. You might be absolutely minted though so if that's the case then why the hell not ...? :p

My Desire went back to HTC for repair 3 weeks ago, I have a crappy old motorola as a standby phone that can make calls AND send text messages, it even has a colour screen! memory is full tho with 20 text messages and it takes 2 days to send a text. I'm going out of my tiny little mind! I miss my desire so much and they have said it could be a further 2 weeks till i have her safely home, so I would do whatever it takes to numb the pain my friend, personally I have taken to drinking, heavily!

HTC are not what you would describe as fast at returning phones...

Thirded ... (lol)

I had a nightmare with them telling me several times they were on with the repair only to be told when I enquired next it's waiting for yet another part.

But I did get a 4GB SD as compensation, which went well with the identical one EVERYONE gets with the phone when they buy it.

Fingers crossed the OPs finds it's way back quicker ;)
