Help Unable to view Exchange emails

I've been working on this and searching for a few days now and this is how far I got.

I can send and receive email through Exchange and I can see emails in my Inbox, the problem is I never keep any emails in my inbox, they always go into separate folders and those ones I can't see. I can see and switch to the different folders but there appears to be nothing in them.

I'm using Samsung Email simply because it came on the phone and seems to be able to do gmail, hotmail and exchange all in one.

Android 2.1, unrooted.

Anyone come across this issue or have any ideas?

In Samsung email, choose the 'email for exchange' tab. Then:

menu > account settings > folders > check the folders you want to sync to your phone.

hope that helps.

the folders follow the same rules as the inbox, ie how many weeks of mail to sync.

I'm trying out touchdown - it may handle exchange emails better. It has a 'choose folders' button in the settings page.

Odd. I wonder what the issue for me is then. I can see all the folders when I go to "switch folder" but when I select one it gives me a black screen with the folder name on top as if I am in the folder but there is nothing there.

I tried removing and re-adding my Exchange account to no avail.

Edit: I just noticed it does it with Hotmail too. I also only have 2 emails in my hotmail even though I have it set for 120 days. Can't tell if it does with Gmail because I don't have any folders, just an inbox.

same problem, nothing in the folders and nothing older than 4-5 days in the inbox, even though I've set the time to 120 days.

Are you able to see all of your emails if you go into the app called "Email" or "Social Hub"? I can see all of my Hotmail emails through there but neither of those have Exchange so I have to use the one called "Samsung email", which of course doesn't work.

Social hub doesn't seem to give me access to emails, only SMS, though when I get out of samsung email while reading an email, the application Social hub is in the open applications, so out seems that samsung email is part of Social Hub. Also,I tried the normal email app when I got the phone and I couldn't connect my hotmail with this, but that's just becauseI wad bad and couldn't manage all the ports and stuff.
So, I only use samsung email (and would like to keep using this very good app which only problem is this one).
I've spoke with a Bell representative and a Bell technician and though they've tried to help me the best they could, neither of them had a demo or enough play time with the galaxy S to help me with their general knowledge (and of course company knowledge didn't help)

When I called samsung and told him about "Samsung Email" he told me to call Social Hub suppot so I know it's one in the same. Apparently their hours are not the same as regular Samsung support so I wasn't able to call them last night.

The confusing bit is the phone comes with so many email apps that seem to be the same, yet different.
If I have my hotmail notifications turned on in "Email" and in "Social Hub" I get two notifications for the same email, so even though adding the account in "Accounts and Sync" automatically adds it to both, I have to disable notifications on one so I don't get double.

So confusing.

STATUS UPDATE:
I called Samsung Social Hub support and he was baffled. He sent me a test message to my Exchange acount, I moved it into on of my folders. I went into that folder to take a look and it was there, then all of a sudden, presto chango, it disapeared infront of my eyes. The guy on the phone then tried it and he said it did the same thing to him! My luch was over and my battery was dying so I had to go. He called me back a few minutes later and said he removed his accound a recreated it, moved some emails around, turned his phone on/off and they were all still there.

I guess I'm removing all my accounts when I get home and see what happens but the case has been escalated.

I say, if you're having this issue give them a call so they can maybe figure out a solution quicker? He said there's only a few people working there and no one has had anyone mention this issue before.

If anyone is having any sort of email issues with Samsung Email please call Social Hub support so they can work at finding a solution. So far, I'm the only one that has called in and even though the same issue has happened to the tech agents as well, they're really not in a big hurry to fix anything it seems.
