Root Redemptive rEVOlution 1.8

Just flashed this tonight and it gives a nice little boost in the already superb ROM by Lou. I've really been impressed with the new HTC kernel and Lou includes it in this version. For those that haven't tried this ROM and want something a little different (with the included alpha burst theme animations) it's really an excellent ROM very stable and few if any bugs. + the dev is +

I tried nameless's theme and I guess I'm just a sucker for B&W. If you like a colorful layout though nameless is great!

Just flashed this myself, and now I'm flashing the Astro theme. Loved 1.7.1 and the only reason I'm going to 1.8 is with the hopes that MMS works without me having to manually enable the 3G connection. Excited to get this back up and running!

Silly question but where are these themes like Astro to check out. I didn;t see them here.

I know the Blued theme is right in the xda post with the rom though.

Are you still theming Nameless or one of the others?

I flashed alpha burst (in the redemptive folder as part of the rom), then Nameless, then I tried Riptide and got thrown into a boot loop. It was late and I probably screwed something up. I am back to Nameless right now. Pimpshit has been MIA since putting it up last week. I am wondering where he has gone to.

Just installed this rom from uncommon sense and just curious if i can get some help getting a couple things accomplished...

1. Looking for transparent notification bar with hidden location icon
2. Install music mod music player
3. Looking to get vanilla lock screen
4. Looking for maybe a rosie launcher...not the default launcher and want to keep the sense widgets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My market refuses to update. I get download failed on almost everything. It just hangs on 'downloading', and then transitions to 'download unsuccessful'. Any suggestions? Am I the only one?

Thanks,
NKk

EDIT: People on XDA also report this problem, so it is either the market server or the ROM. Still waiting on that verdict.

1- Check out the lowrider theme and look at the add ons. There is a clear taskbar but the icons are not black and white
2- The music fix is on the 1st page of the Redemptive page in the matted blue theme section.
3- Lowrider has the lockscreen you are looking for under add ons - "Remove Lockscreen"
4- Not sure about this one but the launcher on his theme is cool imo...

Hope this helps

Note - Flashing the full theme disabled the usage of the internal memory for me. Work around... I just flashed the parts of his theme that I liked... Clear notification board and launcher. Worked like a charm.

Is the Perflock already disabled on this ROM already? Tried to disable it with SetCPU but got an error. Since it's using the new kernel i'm wondering if it's already disabled or does the Dev have to update setcpu to work with this new kernel.

Also, great ROM, just had problems with Handcent. Was not listing the texts in the threads screen at all. Fresh installed Hancent as well and got the texts but was not displaying any of them. Back to stock. Bummer.... Will try 1.9 and see if it works out.

The source code for this newer HTC kernel has not been released yet so setcpu will NOT work with this kernel at all. As soon as the code is available I'm sure it won't be long before someone gets their hands on it and perflocks it and enables all governors.

I've used just about every kernel out there and I've used setcpu quite extensively, but I have found with this new kernel setcpu is not needed imo. The battery life is fantastic and the smoothness perfection.

I liked the stock sms app so much with this ROM that I ditched handcent after using it for 8 months so I don't know what to say about your issue other than this is the first I've heard of it.

Totally agree re kernel. I'm almost about to delete setcpu entirely because of this. I wonder how it works with SR but I haven't flashed anything other than SP2 and then immediately went back to this rom.

Haven't even tried the stock sms in months. I'll give it a shot now, doesn't look too bad any longer. What's better in it than handcent?
