That's the hope and dare I say expectation. VZW has grandfathered in before, can't imagine it will be different now

If that's the case then I am all for this move, allow people who don't need beefy data plans or who are constantly around WiFi to pay half and still be able to own a smartphone.

I second this.. Myself, I need unlimited whereas my wife always has wifi and she don't need the extra data. This would be excellent.
