What are your complaints about Moto Droid?

1. Crippled Corporate Email Client - why can't it have the same features as the Gmail client? For instance, email signatures.
2. Can't accept or reject calendar invites via Corporate Email. It sees everything as an email message
3. Wish that the on-screen keyboard had auto correct or spell check (not sure if it has it)

OK, I do love this phone - BUT - the biggest disappointment has been with Bluetooth: my Droid paired with my BMW, but will only connect manually - that is when it even WILL connect! I can't load my phonebook at all, and there is NO VOICE DIALING, which was a near-deal-breaker...only hung on because of the promise of BT upgrade with 2.0.1, which I don't have yet, so still waiting to see if it actually does improve...

- Hardware keyboard is just not working for me - Music app needs a lot more polish Otherwise I'd marry my Droid. .

Does it play your music?

Can you shuffle?

Can you repeat?

Can you build playlist?

Why does it need to be prettier if it's functional? Unless you have an ability to listen to music with your eyes that the rest of us don't.

I just don't get some of the things people choose to complaib about.

I am a newbie, but I know I can help with two of the three you have listed...

1) Go into GMail --> Hit Menu Button --> Settings --> Right on the very top, Signature

2) Sorry, cannot help

3) Its setup to auto correct and/or spell check right out of the box. Type a word wrong on purpose and hit space after it. 99% of the time it will change the word to what you were intending to type. And as for spell check, start to type the word and look at the available options that the droid gives you. If its not in the list, continue typing, if the word does not show up, back up and try again with the alternate spelling. If it shows up on the list, its spelled correctly.

Hope that helps...

I had the same problem with my BMW, but after the update today I was able to transfer my phone book to the car and call people from the NAV screen. Hands free works at last. I have not done voice dialing, but really don't need to now that the phone book transfers.

I love my Droid, I never thought it would happen but I love it as much as I did my iPhone 3GS

My only complaints:
1. It has a keyboard (I will never use it)
2. Apps are lacking compared to Apple, but they will catch up

Other than that I love it!!!

I am starting to agree with you on #1. I really enjoy the landscape and portrait for that matter, virtual keyboards. I have only used the physical keyboard a handful of times and dont find it particularly comfortable or efficient. While on the other hand, I find both virtual keyboards very good if you just let the phone correct the natural mistakes that are made.

Google Voice Nav
Google Goggles

Lorded those over my iPhone buddy at work...made him turn green. :)

Also called him later that evening to brag but his phone dropped the call... ;)

Thanks, that gives me hope that mine will work at last - now if I could just get my update!

Easy there tiger. You obviously don't understand.

The playlist feature I don't use much actually. For me I'd like to see some type of album flip. I'd also like to see the shuffle back button actually go back, and when turning shuffle on it not immediately skip out of the song I was playing. I want it to shuffle when I'm done with the current song, get it? I would also like it to look like the interface was not designed by a color blind monkey from the 1980's.

Anyways you should chill out a little and realize not everyone uses this device the way you do.

1. The keyboard (one of 2 factors for me not saving 100 by getting the eris) sucks completely. I have used it like 5 times since launch day because the stupid d-pad cripples the buttons your left thumb can reach.
2.The video player should be either incorperated in to the music app (making it a media app) or given its own app. I hate to the deepest core of my heart that it is in the gallery app. I installed the app called Video Player which basically acts as a short cut to your video folder with a few little interface tweeks. But this is like throwing a paper towel over a pile of dog crap in your living room. You may not see the problem directly anymore but it is still there and it still stinks.
3. Bluetooth voice dialing is a no show so far.
4. I really don't want to use a home replacemnet app because even the best, fastest ones arent as stable and quick as the standard home, but for a divice capable of using so many apps and widgets, 3 home screens arent enough. So you have to choose between speed & stability or the ability to customize to your hearts desire.
5. This one is pretty miner, but i wish it used mini usb instead of micro cause i have some where around 50,000,000 mini usb cables and/or chargers at my house, meaning i would be able to keep one every concievable place i use my phone, but instead it uses micro usb so i have to buy new cords and chargers for work, car, etc.

Though they rotate fine on the Eris!

I should clarify for Mistereff, it's likely Android 2.0, Eris runs 1.5 or 1.6. Not to mention that it also doesn't have a physical KB. I DO wish they'd fix that though...

JustROLLIN, he was talking about the CORPORATE email client, I believe those settings you pointed him to (that he was aware of) only effect the GMAIL client.

I'd LOVE to know how YOU hold your phone.... The D-Pad gets in the way of MY RIGHT hand....

Instead of buying new chargers and cables, just buy miniUSB to microUSB adapter cables. I bought 10 of them on eBay for next to nothin.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know they made those! That will be much better! Still wish they would have just made it a mini connection instead of a micro, but it is nice to know i don't have to replace all my cables and chargers. every phone except one i have owned in the past 2 years (about 6 phones) had mini usb so i have a ton of chargers and computer cables from them. Not to mention the ones from various mp3 players, bluetooth head sets, and various other tech items i have owned.

+1... I hate the keyboard, but to be honest I have only used it 3 or 4 times so I can't definitively say it sucks.... Other than that this is the best mobile phone I have ever owned.... Yes it does not have as many apps, but I think I have every single app I need except for one.. A business card reader... Otherwise I am in love with my Droid...

I love this phone...only two complaints...one major, one minor...

Minor: It stores my contacts screwy...I have a contact "Pat" a contact "Patricia" and a contact "Patty". It stores them all under "Patty", and when I get a call from any of them, the caller ID shows "Patty". No biggy, but I can't find a way to correct it.

Major: The bluetooth issue - No handsfree voice dial, no auto anwer. I understand that this may be corrected in th update...I really hope so.

Otherwise, I'm a happy camper!

This one is actually an advantage. All manufacturers except for Apple have agreed to adopt the micro usb as the standard charger for all phones. Get all you need now and by 2011 or 12 you will never have this problem again no matter what phone you buy (unless you get an iPhone in the future)
