Help Battery!!! Having to charge 3 times a day!

I have had my x10 since May now.

At first I was having battery issues but I downloaded Juice Defender and though the battery has never been amazing it was better.

Now I charge it and within 6 hours its dead, I don't even send a text and it dies! Trying 2 different batteries as well.

Its doing my head in, I can only think I have an app draining the life out of it how do I work out which one?

I am going to have to take it away to be fixed otherwise by the shop I brought it from.

I thought I would love this phone when I got it have SE phones for last 5 years but I won't be having one again! Disappointed by this phone!

Just downloading new update, thanks.

If it doesnt help I will be back :)
You will be surprised. There are other ways to help with your battery too, like disabling data when you're not using it, changing the amount of time between syncs for apps that do, and turning your screen brightness down to 50%.

But there are also some rouge apps that will drain your battery, but you won't know what they are unless you experiment yourself. I found a significant increase when I deleted the Facebook app which I didn't use anyway, but some haven't found it to be a problem.

I keep facebook on but auto refresh off. only when I am in transit, i use the app to let it update and that's it. Why refresh all day when I'm front of a pc anyway.

Today for example, I've had minimal use. listened to music for 20 minutes using Mixzing and checked emails that have come in thru gmail and moxier both a few times and a phone call that lasted 2 minutes. At being 7 hrs unplugged my battery is still at 88%

I think changing the brightness to "adjust automatically" helped a lot too.

Also ensure your battery's not defective. Can't you still get a replacement within the first year?

damn it says gota back up all my info before i update. I dont wanna go through all the work of backing up plus not really sure how to
Anything on your SD card won't be affected, the main thing is your contacts and the default backup app will backup to your sd, once you've flashed just run it again and restore your contacts. Any apps you've downloaded should be in the downloads section of your Market so just download again, or use the one click root app, root, install Titanium Backup and backup everything, then restore when you reflash and reroot.

Bare in mind you'll probably have to do this when 2.1 comes anyway as it's a completely new OS.

I noticed charging from computer usb makes my phone lasts much longer than charging from a wall.

Also i downloaded spare parts and when its charging from the wall the battery status says something like over voltage. don't know if that has anything to do with anything but even though charging from the pc takes longer to reach 100% it is lasting more by at least a day.

Since R2BA020 the battery's been great, and no need to use task killers or juice defender. In my opinion the best saving strategy is to just leave the phone alone and let it sit. It just seems to me that the longer the up time, the more stable it is, without installing a bunch of new apps

Not to knock your point at all (trust me, no harm meant) but I have heard the exact opposite from most people, so I have to wonder if it's not all in people's minds :D

That being said, I actually do notice a slight performance difference from the battery if I charge it from the computer (better, as opposed to from the wall), so I'm with you. I keep thinking it may all just be a matter of perception though :)

im runnin R2CA016 when i plug my phone into my computer it says im running the latest, and when i check for updates on my phone it says i have the latest??? what happening.

It is most likely something to do with your carrier/branded phone.

For example, I'm on the "most up to date" firmware as well, but I'm on R2BA020 (as opposed to 026) -- why? Because that's the best I can do with Rogers for whatever reason apparently :p

Fun times with branded phones.

+1, it lasts longer when you use mains power.

+1. AT&T are one ahead but it's not much different, if at all from 026.

If you're branded you have to rely on your carrier to release the updates, which is why I always debrand my phones.
