Help question about setup

Hi Everyone,
Just purchased an incredible from a friend that had to give up her phone. It has a clean esn. I want to replace an htc ozone that I have with the incredible. How do I go about changing the phone number that used to be hers, to mine. I've snooped around on it a little, but not quite sure how or where to look. Didn't want to go to Vzn in case they get all huffy about not buying a new phone from them.

You probably have to call Verizon. I do not think you can activate the phone using 228 unless you bought it from them.

However, if you bought the phone legally from a friend, i don't see why you should have a problem

You do not have to call Verizon, on your Incredible *228, press 1 and it will take you from there - Make sure your old phone is turned off before you start.

And even if you do have to go through Verizon directly for some reason, they don't actually care where you bought the phone from.
