How do I copy my Aldiko books?

There are many books in the Android Market that I'd like to buy for my Aldiko reader, but I need to know that there's a good way to back them up. I used my ES File Manager to look for the books but there is no ebook folder or aldiko folder. These are drm-free books.

Any ideas?

Are you sure you're actually looking at your card? They should be in sdcard\ebooks.

There is no such folder in my sdcard folder.

Is there a way I can search for it? What do I search for?
Wow, that is very peculiar. Only thing I can think of is that maybe you didn't have a card installed when you first installed Aldiko, and it created the ebooks and Aldiko folders on the phone itself? Not sure if that's what would happen though, I'm just guessing...

I couldn't find how to search in ES, but Astro will let you. Searching for ebooks didn't work for me, but searching for a random author's last name did.

I figured it out.

When you purchase books from the Market, they are installed as apps in the phone memory. However, from within the book app itself in Aldiko, you can go to the menu and choose Export to store the book on your SD card as an ePub file.

Thanks for your input.

Hmm, I'm running the current Aldiko paid version and have never found an export option. It just created the necessary directories on my SD card and downloads directly purchased books (those I haven't purchased on the desktop and copied to the phone) to there. Sounds like your phone and/or Aldiko version may be very different. Anyway, glad you figured it out!
