under the contacts heading, try connecting to the SIM option, instead of the phone. worked for me.

I've been using MyPhoneExplorer for a few weeks now it is good to be able to view what is on the phone memory without rooting.

I'm wondering about using it to delete some system apps which I don't use. Particularly those german apps which T Mobile kindly installed for me

I'm looking at the phone memory\system\app folder and each one has a .apk file and a .odex file. There is a delete option but I don't really know if it's even possible and I don't want to risk messing up my phone

Has anyone done this?

+1 from me. MyPhoneExplorer has a support forum and the author is prompt at replying. MPE was a life saver for me in terms of syncing contacts reliably unlike the dreaded HTC Sync.

I use to use this on my old SE phone, but I can't seem to get it connecting to my HTC Desire. I have the phone in a desk dock, should that make a difference?

Got it working via wifi instead and it is working fine. Great app for those of us who sit in front of a pc most of the day!!

I couldnt get it to connect on my desk dock either but it will connect using the original usb cable supplied with the desire.

To get it working over USB you must have the HTC Driver (not HTC Sync) on your PC.
They are installed separately when you install HTC Sync so make sure you only remove one.

Second you need USB Debugging enabled on the Android - this is ON by default when you use the HTC Sync connection but OFF when you use the use as disk drive option. Turn it on in settings and all will be will.

I have MPE configured so that as soon as i connect by USB and auto sync is carried out.

AND... it works over muliple PCs which HTC Sync does not - unless you want all your contacts and appointments duplicated.

I should point out that I don't use the organiser part of MPE as Google Calendar Sync works fine for me.

Hi Spile,

where is USB debugging in settings? I would like to give it a try in the desk dock. I have HTC Driver and HTC Sync installed so maybe it is the usb debugging which is the problem. I have MPE sorted to start up when the PC is switched on and like you I don't use the organiser part. I guess I need to go into settings on MPE on the pc to auto-sync when phone is connected.

Ok found it and it works fine. I need to play around with settings to configure it right. What boxes need ticking so that it syncs when I place phone in the dock?
