Accessories Otterbox Impact Review

I think most people are still waiting for the defender, like me!

I thought about waiting for it too. I was tempted to buy the impact but Sprint screwed up and I took advantage of it. I went to Sprint to look at the Commuter, and the Sprint store offer me 25% if I bought something else with it. So I bought a case for my Epic as well and asked the guy how I got 25% off.

Well he assumed that since I was a Evo owner I was a premier customer, I told him, I just came back to Sprint after 2 years when the Evo came out. But he was cool and still gave me the 25% off so I decided to buy it instead of waiting on the defender.

I'm sure someone will get the Impact soon and report his review on here.

Got my impact today $16 w/shippping Fedex. Gotta say its the last case I think ill ever need. Its perfect! I have the HTC silicone, 2 Amzer silicones(were my personal favorite), 1 ebay silicone(bought it to cut out the back for the extended battery), and the Seidio innocase. The Impact in my opinion provides the most preotection you can possibly get without interfering with the functionality of the phone. Covers almost the entire side bezel(havent seen a silicone case thats done that yet). Material feels awesome in hand. I was gonna get the defender as well but this case is more than enough for 1/3 of the price.

I'm not a case person, but after dropping my Evo twice, shattering the screen both times, and paying the $100 deductible for a replacement twice, I knew I had to smarten up. So I bought the Impact, but after having it a just a short while, I went to a mall kiosk and bought a snap-on hard cover instead, which I like a lot better.

Two things about the Impact really bother me. First, it's quite bulky, and even adds a substantial amount of weight to the phone. With the rubber material, which creates a lot of friction, it becomes nearly impossible to slip into a pocket, etc. Second, and most importantly, the case is very loose and flimsy on the long edges, to where it comes off the phone with just the slightest touch. This bothered me a lot when using the phone - my thumb was always rolling it back. I also noticed how loose it was when I put it in my car holder and I could see through the top lip and out the headphone hole - kind of like when you put your foot into a shoe that's too big and there's air in the heel.

Here are some pictures.
